The visually arresting architectural design is worth a stop and a long look. You can even buy gasoline and diesel fuel here. Your only souvenirs will be photos, though. (I can't speak to the automotive garage's services.)

Great service. Helped me in a big pinch. They couldn’t fix it but he was wise enough to get me to the right shop for the severity of my engine problem and right before closing time. Helped handle the stress of being stranded 2hrs from home

My father and grandfather owned and operated an Apco gas station in Estherville Iowa for many years. Gayle will tell you that when we travel, I'm prone to point out a property and state that it used to be a gas station, or look at a building and guess which brand designed it. As an example, some old Shell stations are easy to spot. So when my Brother suggested with stop at the gas station that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, I was all ears. Plus, we really did need to fill up the car (on the way to Ely MN) and take a comfort break. The Best Service Station itself was very non assuming, and it appeared to have an active car service bays. Bathrooms were upstairs behind some sort of cool "lounge" area, and the nice attendant was more than happy to fill our tank. And for a modest price, I purchased a nice branded coffee cup to remind of this cool little bit of architecture hidden within this small Midwest town.

Nice service station! We needed a propane bottle filled so we stopped in. Service was fast and friendly. We were in and out in about 5 minutes with our tank filled. Fast service, fair price. Nice!

We were in Cloquet for a softball game at nearby Braun Park, so made a quick detour to check out this 1958 Frank Lloyd Wright designed gas station. Never knew this was here before. Very cool!

I stopped there to see if they could tell me what was wrong with my car, as it was squealing. The young man tightened my belt and also put air in my tire, then checked the air in the other tires. He didn't charge me anything, as he knew I had no money. He was very courteous, still, and did not rush me, or treat me differently. I give Best Auto 5 stars. Every interaction has been pleasant.

While traveling from Hibbing to Duluth we stopped to see this gas station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It immediately transports you back in time and is definitely worth stopping. Very memorable. Loved it! We toured Taliesin a few days later and loved it too. Learning a lot about FLW on this trip and while I wasn't a huge fan before, I now have a new found admiration for him.

This is a good old fashioned service station where you can stop by and talk about what's going on with your car and they will take a look right then and there. Nothing fancy, just quality service at VERY affordable prices.

Do not purchase propane here. 100lb tank holds 23.6 gal. They will only fill to 20 gal. That's 14 dollars less in propane, however still charged me 70 bucks for the fill. That's 5 bucks more than anywhere else and a loss of 19 bucks to me!

This is my "go to" place for car maintenance, advice on car noise problems, and recommendations of places to bring my car if it needs any additional repair that they don't do (which they fix most anything). I trust their advice, their work, and that they are not price gouging. Their prices are either equal too or less (sometimes much less) than the chain service stations. They treat their customers well. I've been trusting them with my vehicles for 30 years.
