Customer service is 0/5. They will not own their mistakes. They should make it right for the customer when they mess up. Had an issue with a brand new weed trimmer. First time I went in I was told to have the gas removed and they would give store credit with no issue. So I did that. Then I came back and the manager told me I needed to bring it to a small engine repair shop to have them diagnose the problem to make sure it’s under warranty. Okay fine. So they specifically sent me Minnesota equipment. Go to Minnesota equipment and they said they don’t work on Troy built. Let it be stated that I was holding the Troy built trimmer in my hand when the manager told me to go to Minnesota equipment. Now I’m upset. A lot of time has been wasted on my part due to incompetence on the part of menards. Go back to menards for a THIRD time. I just want in-store credit at this point because they’ve made one to many mistakes with this situation. They refuse. They sent me a third wild goose chase. Menards should own their mistakes and just make it right for the customer. I literally spend thousands, if not 10’s of thousands of dollars at this store.

Something needs to be done about a morning cashier taking an extreme amount of time flirting with some older man. I came in the morning, in line waiting (no big deal) while everyone around me in other lines have already come & gone. Two other people who came to wait in line behind me ended up going to other cashiers and left way before me. If I didn’t already have my heavy merch on the loading belt I would’ve switched lines and been done as well. The cashier stopped working to continue flirting with the guy. After awhile I finally had enough and said something “hey, can you ring me up?” The amount of disgusting attitude I received afterwards was scary. I wasn’t sure if she was going to punch me or what. She scoffed, aggressively rolled her eyes and told me “Wait your turn maam” turns to the guy she was speaking to and proceeds to finish her conversation (he was done and had his bags/receipt) and tells him she’s sorry but some people obviously haven’t had their coffee yet” I wish I would’ve gotten her name.

Stopped in to get Goop wipes this morning and the cashier tried hitting on me.
Every time I come into Menards, this same cashier Maria makes inappropriate, unwanted advances toward me. I’ve shown my wedding ring, I’ve given zero indication of interest, on a previous occasion she took it to another level by literally backing her behind into me as I tried to walk past. That’s not an “accident.” That’s crossing the line. The first advance she made I laughed off.
I’m here to buy hardware, not deal with some employee’s desperate attempts at flirting. It’s embarrassing, it’s uncomfortable, and it’s making me avoid your store altogether. If Menards can’t control its staff’s behavior toward customers, then it’s not just bad customer service - it’s a serious HR issue. Handle this, because the next step isn’t a review, it’s a formal complaint. I tried uploading my receipts but my review was instantly flagged/taken down.

This review is in regards to the custom countertops only. Poor quality and terrible customer service. If you’re a homeowner and not very experienced with countertop installation then do not buy from Menards. Not DIY friendly at all.
We ordered new custom high definition laminate countertops from Menards. We went over the design process with them in store. This is what we ended up with.
First off, the staff assisting with design are very inexperienced and not very knowledgeable when it comes to the whole process. They weren’t able to answer any questions regarding installation.
The counters have an overhang on each side that extends past the base cabinet. They failed to account for our oven width and now the oven doesn’t fit. The counter tops will require heavy modifications to make them work.
Second, they are just poor quality. The laminate on the edges are already peeling up in two different places. You can see in the photos there’s a gap between the laminate and the wood so it wasn’t even glued on properly from the manufacturer.
We tried to save money by doing it ourselves, but it’s going to end up costing us more than if we were to just hire a professional in the first place. Since we’re going to have to hire someone to modify these.

Honestly it's still probably best all around hardware store. It's laid out well and the staff is well trained and the prices are good. You probably won't find the highest end stuff there but if you know what you need you can probably get it relatively quickly and easily there.

Sometimes a great value sometimes kinda expensive but they always hire enough help that you can find what you need. So different from a trip to the DEPOT. You can walk into that place after 4 pm and scream fire ? without anyone responding at all.

I purchase light plates and made a mistake on my count. I had my receipt and came in to make correct changes.
Walking up to service center and asked who can help me. There was a male and female working with no customers near. I asked who can help us, no response…finale the woman said she would. The gentleman named Alex gave us nasty looks and acted condescending. We went to get the correct material and returned, Alex again was rude. As we left my husband said put a smile on and be friendly, his response was a smart a remark . Very very poor customer service.
I called the store, the front of the store manager answered. I asked who I can talk to or even the name of employee. He would not give me any information. Was just adamant he gets the information. I told Jim the information above and would hope the could have a few steps above the individual workin now. He never asked my name, number nothing. Menards is failing with customer service, I will go elsewhere and hope others do to.

A one star because there is no option for zero. Rob, the store manager, seems like his is only there to say. I'm sorry, but it's not my problem. Jeff was rude and talked in circles about how he wouldn't help me because he didn't have to. Rob contradicted what he Jeff said and said all the problems were outside of his control. I have spent close to 15000 here in the last month. I'm returning everything I can. I will not be shopping here anymore. I would recommend to everyone to find a different store. 0 for customer service.

Bought a chair that was on sale. Had to go around back to pick it up. Box did not fit in our vehicle and the worker was nice enough to help us take it out and slide the pieces in. Great service all around.
