I opted to use HR Block this year because my tax situation was relatively complicated - I sold one house, bought another, and had a baby. As such, I figured I'd be better off having a professional prepare my taxes.
Well, the appointment itself took three full hours. My tax preparer was a very nice man, but it sort of seemed like he took extra long just to have someone to talk to. Then, somehow, my direct deposit information ended up being incorrect even though I had the information pulled up for them to enter and watched them key it in. Because of that, I've been waiting a full month for my federal return, and I can't get an answer on where any of it may be. I had to verify that I filed a return with the IRS, but now I may need to wait up to three weeks to get *another* notice that I need to verify the return before they can proceed with it.
It's been a part-time job itself to track this and it's time I don't have. I should have just done my taxes myself, saved the money and time.
