Disappointing - My daughter had decided she wanted to get a new car. She did her research and decided the Subaru Forster was the car for her so she contacted the local dealer in our area which is R&G Subaru in Detroit Lakes MN. A friend of mine had also recommended them. The dealer did not have any stock of the car my daughter wanted so she put some money down to put a hold on one scheduled to arrive in a couple of weeks. When it came time for pricing negotiation the dealer stated they were not budging on the MSRP as they don't have any issues selling them at that price. My daughter and I decided to she if this was the case at all Subaru dealer and went to the dealership in Moorhead MN. After speaking with the sales person at the Moorhead dealer we decided to look at some numbers, when they brought their first pricing deal they had already reduced the sell price of the vehicle without any negotiations having taken place. My daughter asked if there was anymore room on the selling price and they came down a little more and we moved forward with them on the lease of a new Forester. Afterwards my daughter had contacted R&G about getting her deposit back and they said they would only give her half, disappointing that they would do that since they don't seem to have any issues selling that model to begin with. Disappointing as I would have liked to buy at the local dealer but you can bet we won't be back for any other business with them.

Scott was awesome to work with! He was helpful and not pushy at all which I appreciated as the dealership in Fargo was relentless with emails while I decided on what I wanted. Scott was quick and efficient as he knew I was driving from Fargo to get my vehicle so he had everything ready to go for me right away. After getting the paperwork done, he gave a me a thorough walk through of all features on my vehicle. Would highly recommend working with Scott and RG Subaru if you are in the market for a new or used vehicle!

This is my third Subaru that I’ve purchased from R&G Subaru and Justin Buschette. 2 Outback’s and now an Ascent. Yes, I love Subi’s. However, it is the customer service that keeps me coming back to R&G. Justin & Matt are a riot. They have treated us like family since the first time we walked through the door. Remembering our names, small details about our life and pets. That kind of thing makes a customer feel important & like we matter. Thank you R&G Subaru for never treating us as if we are just another sale! I will continue to purchase any future Subi’s from my R&G family!

Air quality was terrible. Detroit Lakes, Minn. was sixth-most polluted service in the world on the day I was there, but the service was good. Wasn't as busy as other Subaru dealerships I have been to, at least on the day I was there, which was nice. Area also looks nice, at least when isn't smoky from forest fires.

Our experience at R&G Subaru was excellent in every way. No high pressure, everyone was friendly and helpful. No one tried to sell you something you didn't want or couldn't afford. The most impressive thing I noticed was anyone that was free would help you even if you started with another salesman. I would recommend this dealership if you want to be treated right.

Great experience all around.We were looking for our first new car ever. We had been working with multiple dealerships in the twin cities, but for various reasons, it wasn't quite the right fit. But we knew what we wanted, so when we saw that R & G Subaru had the model and trim we wanted, we reached out.Justin and Drew made it so easy. We primarily worked with Justin, who understood where we were coming from. Anything we asked or needed was immediately answered. It was upfront, direct and exactly the type of experience I was hoping for. They even gave an accurate estimate of when the car would arrive on the lot.When we arrived to purchase, it was friendly, inviting and everything was ready. We drove away (and still are) happy with it.

Linden Johnson(salesman) made the car buying experience from my mom very enjoyable. The feeling going into R&G for service has always been a good experience, the service staff always takes their time in explaining the good and no so good. They ensure you fully understand the service they are providing and their sales team is equally as good. Linden's no pressure approach was welcoming and warm and he made the vehicle buying experience less daunting for mom. Thanks to Linden and the entire R&G Subaru team for their quality of service, friendly attitudes and always working to deliver the highest quality of service to the customer!

R & G Subaru is the best! I cracked my head gasket installing an oil sensor. I took it to a local place in Fargo and they told me they were going to have to install an entire engine for the cost of 6,000-7,000. I usually take my car to R & G because it’s where I bought it. Luckily I had family that was able to haul my car down to Detroit Lakes. They were able to replace the head gasket and a few other things for half the cost of the local automotive place. I ended up having to use a few different cards to pay for it and John was super patient with me on that. This really is a great place and they have great service. I live in Moorhead, but I drive down just to go to them when I can.

Disappointed in my experience here, trying to trade in and upgrade my Suabru Ascent. The salesman was friendly but had a take it or leave it approach, unwilling to negotiate price, offer alternatives or other vehicles to get to a price point that would work (which we weren't far from). Per the salesman, they only sell at sticker price, they wouldn't offer extras or incentives. I bought my 2019 Ascent from here, felt like I got a good deal, and while it's been a list of warranty issues, I really like the car. I was prepared to spend more and put more money down to get into a vehicle without issues but I want to feel like a repeat customer, not someone at the checkout counter at Walmart. Also to add, I was told the price on the engine block heaters had gone up, quoted $900 (added as an extra to the loan), called another local Subaru dealer and was quoted $450.
