“This place is great! Very nice products and very attentive staff. I was in the store when another patron was there - not once did this person ask for help or indicate she needed help to the worker. The worker did absolutely nothing wrong (because she had no clue anything was wrong). We were all confused when the patron said they were going to leave a bad review online for not being helped. “I severely bent my stone setting on my black-plated, sterling silver engagement ring and also needed it sized down. He was very informative and thorough during our consult, and an absolute pleasure to do business with all together. They are the only ones in town who can work on sterling silver, and this was his first time working with black plated sterling silver. Needless to say, he did an AMAZING job repairing and resizing my ring! We will go nowhere else for our jewelry needs in the future!”
“I came in last minute looking for a dress and was warmly welcomed by the owner and a staff member. They were both incredibly helpful and attentive. The dress I chose had a small stain, which they quickly removed while I tried on other options. Even though they were able to remove the stain, they took an extra 10% off. I didn’t have much time to browse, but everything I saw was really cute. I’ll definitely be back!”

“I've never stopped in and now I wish I came sooner! I can't believe they're closing, such a cute store with a LOT of selection. If you're a trinket collector like me you'll really enjoy this store! The prices are all really fair too, lots of cheap items for people on a budget. Plus a wide variety of clothing ranged! I've found as big as a 3XL, which isn't a lot but is better than a lot of other places in the area. Highly highly recommended.”
“I'm compelled to write this after seeing these 2 totally wrong reviews. We have visited Duluth for over 20 years now and have ALWAYS stopped in to see "Sandra" at Minnesota Gifts by Sandra Dee. That store has been there for over 3 decades for a reason! She's got it ALL there because she knows from experience what tourists/travelers need or forget when they leave home (especially when that lake drums up crazy unexpected weather) and what they might want to bring back with them! One time the rain came out of nowhere and we ran into the Dewitt-Seitz bldg., MN Gifts had rain ponchos (score), another time my wife forgot her jacket in the hotel room and that northern wind was blowing fierce, MN Gifts had awesome heavy sweatshirts for the whole family (still wear mine), my son got some gorgeous Lake Superior agates and cool MN stickers for his iPad/water bottle once, forgot sunscreen for the boat ride--you guessed it--MN Gifts had it, oh and lost my Ray-Bans one time and got a cheapo pair from MN Gifts (stylish and they lasted FOREVER). Best part though was the epic hand-painted antique saw blade we purchased one year for my dad to hang in the family cabin! "Sandra's" daughter is a local wildlife artist, and I can't even begin to tell you how incredible her work is! One could visit that shop just for the chance to snag a piece of MN beauty that'll last a lifetime (if they're not sold out already). My point is this is a unique "mom and pop" shop owned by locals, not some run of the mill chain, it's family-owned and MN Nice through and through. I think David S. in his post was jilted, and hey maybe "Sandra" was having a hard day, we ALL have bad days, but don't let that stop you from visiting her shop...we've been going there FOR DECADES and it's like visiting long lost friends. AND BTW my wife is disabled from an accident and uses arm crutches at times, we were never turned away for her being "disabled", but MN Gifts is a narrow shop and with all the treasures in there, there is not sufficient room for a wheelchair to maneuver around safely. That was likely the case for reviewer Barb S.”

“I went looking for a silly friendship necklace and I got what I was looking for. 1 star was docked because there was a family in line before me that wanted to get 3 or so piercings, however the store only had one clerk— who was now soothing a handful of fussy toddlers and getting them to pick earrings— and that made buying my 2 items take what felt like months.”
