I rent often from national and it is usually a great experience. I rent about 80 days a year through my work account. The woman behind the counter was friendly, but lazy. She also called me 2 days in to a week long rental and asked me if I could turn the vehicle in early because someone requested a similar vehicle. I asked if she would take any money off for me turning it in a day early and she said no. When I told her I would be turning the vehicle in on time, she gave me attitude. It is the managers job to get cars in, not the customer. And I felt it was very unprofessional to call a customer for a free favor.

The experience started great and ended the same way! The lady at Duluth Airport (I really wish I remember her name) was super knowledgeable and helped me pick the right vehicle as I had 2 options for 7 seat vehicles. She knew the ins and outs of each and told me what they offered for me without skipping a beat. She made it so easy and she was there when I returned the vehicle so I thanked her again for her knowledge and customer service. With service and an awesome vehicle selection, I have no intention of ever using anyone else for my car rental needs.

Would be five stars but droped off a day earlier. No one at counter so I dropped the keys In the box. They called me a day after the car was to be back and asked if I still had the car.

Renting from National at the Duluth Airport is always an excellent experience. The representatives at the counter are cheerful, positive, and always provide the best experience possible. We rent somewhat regularly, and we are never disappointed.

Rental was ready on time and time at the desk was short. I thought that the Emerald Club upgrade would have been a little better. Car return was good.

A frustrating experience. I set up an online reservation a few weeks prior to picking up our vehicle last Sunday, July 16. I requested a convertible car seat to be included for my one year old. I am an emerald club member so I expected an easy experience per usual when I go through National.We arrived on time to the airport and were quick to get to the service desk with a short line ahead of us (always nice not to have to wait, especially with a baby in tow). Our first issue was that we couldn't use my husband's credit card to pay since the reservation wasn't in his name (even though we added him as a driver). My credit card is in my maiden name still, so we couldn't even use my card on the reservation. So, we had to switch the entire reservation over to his name as the primary just so we could pay (and they almost upcharged us since he isn't an emerald club member). After that fiasco, we had to get a car seat. Our choices were either a tiny newborn car seat or a toddler car seat for a child over 40 lbs! Either way our daughter wasn't going to be safe because she was too big for the infant seat and too little for the toddler seat. I was so pissed that they didn't have the correct car seat that I reserved in advance and can't believe we had to pay an extra $10 a day for a car seat we didn't even use. Thank goodness we had family in town who were able to pull together to get a car seat for us to use at the last minute.We traveled with my brother and his wife/baby and they went through Hertz. They got the correct car seat they reserved no problem- I will be going through them next time for sure. Too bad I didn't get my emerald club points either.

Had to make last minute reservation change due to airline delay. Required calling National to change airport drop location. I had to call twice both times the operators were almost unable to speak English language. The first time I called I was dropped. National is great unless you have to call customer service. Then you get who knows were and rude agent. Overall since National and Enterprise has combined the vehicale cleanliness no matter what location has went down as well as overall vehicale selection.

Easy fast service, from- and back to- the airport. They upgraded my rental to an SUV at no extra cost, which was great. I'd use National again.

Very pleasant rental.I was even offered an SUV at the same price, but took a smaller vehicle for the gas mileage.This is my second recent rental from this location.Clerks are very helpful and make sure to offer a map.
