Started going to this vet clinic back when Mary originally opened the doors many years ago. Dr. Lorang bought the clinic from Mary and we continued to have a great experience. Back then would give 5 stars. Since Dr. Lorang has stepped back, brought in other vets, etc. our experiences have been spotty. Out previous dog was brought to this clinic for almost 14 yrs. Our current dog, which we have also brought solely to this clinic for 13 years, is a very arthritic senior black lab at the end of her life. In about 2-4 weeks we are going to put her down(when the ground is thawed enough to dig a hole to bury her). I called the clinic today to refill our dog's pain meds and only need 2-4 weeks. Staff told me that it has been over a year since the dog has been seen and she would have to talk to the vet in order to get the med refilled. She called me back and said that the dog would have to be seen in order to get a refill. I again said that we were going to be putting the dog down, and I was told that I couldn't get a refill. I told the staff person that I couldn't lift a 90+ lb. dog in and out of the car because she isn't able to help, and it is so hard on the dog. I asked what the purpose of the office visit would be? Just to look at the dog and say, 'yup she's at the end of her life.'?? The whole thing seems inhumane, and my dog will now be in pain until we put her down, which is more inhumane. After 26 years of my business, the next pet will go elsewhere for care.

I would give this place five starts. They are professional. The staff talks through each step. I was able to hold my little pup while she was getting a shot. They took great care of Coco and I trust the team. They are on time, they talk through everything, and they answer all your questions.

I picked up my kitty pumpkin on Friday from a few procedures he had done by Dr. Rich. I absolutely love the care and service I always receive. They call and give you updates on your pet and the knowledge they have is outstanding. If you are looking for a place 2 bring your pets for care I would highly recommend coming here. They treat your pets with care and truly care about the well-being of them. Thank you guys for taking such good care of my fur baby!

Countryside Animal Hospital is amazing. They have been wonderful with our dog and our cat. You can tell that everyone there truly loves these animals. I love the names of the patients they see that day on the wall :) They went above and beyond with my SON! He is 4 and is determined to be an "animal dr" when he grows up. For Christmas I wanted to give him a vet office in his room. We made a light board for xrays but couldnt find any animals xrays for him to play with. They dug through their old old xrays and found a bunch of animal paws etc for him to have. Not only that but they put a vet box together for him of extra "stuff" a vet should have. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Definitely made it a super special Christmas for him!!! Would drive an hour if i had to to bring my pet to Countryside.

I'd give it no stars if I could. Me and my family took my lil guy in to get euthanized and they would walk in continuance and ask if we were going to cremate him or take him home while we were just trying to have some peace and get ourselves together, after it was done we asked if they could get his paw print and the nurse said that they would do it in what's called a rainbow bridge and that I shouldn't worry they'd get it done. Fast forward I get his ashes and the poem but no paw print, my Name and Address on the Certificate are even wrong. It's been 3 weeks and I've been calling and fighting none stop to get it back but apparently it's completely lost and there's nothing they can do but say sorry and apologies for that.

Wonderful veterinarians and an amazing staff. Your animals are like family to them. And they keep you informed about everything that is going on with your pet. They don't rush to do the most expensive things 1st , they tell you options available as well.

We originally came to country side for an echo for our dog since we had recently lost a dog to heart complications and they had significantly better prices than we could find in the twin cities. Dr Treblehorn and Dr Rich have been some of the best vets we have ever worked with. We discovered our chihuahua was in heart failure. It has been almost a year since that echo and they have been unbelievable helpful answering calls and even going to the office to write scripts on weekends. Extremely professional in making sure our dog has the best quality of life for as long as he can. Our main regret is that we didn't learn about them earlier. If you live in the twin cities area and are looking for a vet I would 100% recommend giving them a shot it is worth it we drive about 45 minutes each way and it has been well worth it.

Best vet we've ever been to. My wife have lived in and seen vets in Burnsville, MN, St. Paul, MN, Oxford, OH, and now Northfield, MN. Countryside is the best of all of them. They have seen five of our pets over the last several years, and helped see one of them through to the very end. The thoughtfulness and compassion they displayed when they came to our home to put our cat to sleep, and the followup with them about the process was truly exemplary. I think that how an office handles situations like that speaks everything about them. As another story, our greyhound has a bizarre blood clotting condition that we've had experiences with in the past that no other vet was able to figure out. Our vet put in the time to do the research, figured out what it was, and found us a supplier of a medication that fixes it, and did not charge us extra for all that extra time spent outside of the visit. They consistently do more than provide minimum care for our furbabies, and in my experience, I've never felt so confident about the vet I take our creatures to.

I am extremely saddened to tell you all that our 6 year old, healthy miniature Australian Shepherd died in the care of Countryside Animal Hospital and Kennels on Saturday, 8/19/18. She had been there less than 24 hours when they called to tell me they found her dead in an outside lot. The vet suggested that perhaps she had an undiagnosed condition, but if that were the case, he is the one who missed it because he was her vet from the time she was a puppy and she was seen by him regularly. She had never had any serious health concerns. Our dog was athletic and played in our yard every day. When I went to pick up my dog's belongings, I asked to see the place where she died and was shown a dirt lot about 10' x 10' with no shade. I was there at the same time of day when I was told my dog died. There was a large dog turned out in that lot when it was shown to me and he had no water. The bucket, which I presume had been filled with water for the dog, was fairly small for a large dog and probably too tall for a small dog to reach. It was narrow at the bottom and wide at the top and had been knocked over. I saw no evidence of a water stain on the dirt, so can only assume that poor dog had been without water on a hot summer day in full sun for quite a while. I asked the attendant repeatedly to please give the dog some water, but she did not do so while I was there. After seeing the conditions under which dogs are kept at this kennel, I can only conclude that my dog probably died of heatstroke from sun exposure and lack of water. I was also told no one attempted CPR on my dog. I used this kennel because it is run by an animal hospital whom I formerly used as my veterinarian, though I obviously will not be using them going forward. I trusted that they would take good care of my dog while I was away. I had never thought to ask to tour the facility because I assumed -- now I know wrongly -- that they would provide excellent, quality care. When you arrive at the kennel, you can see the nice, large fenced lots that have grass and trees off to the left and that is where I assumed my dog spent her time outside. What you don't see is the small, dirt un-shaded lots they have in the back. If I had known those existed, I never would have left my dog in their care. If you use this kennel, I recommend that you stop immediately. I met with the vet and the kennel manager to advocate for several changes including automatic dog watering dishes that are fixed in place and shade tarps for outside lots with no trees that get full sun. Whether they will implement the changes to avoid having this tragedy happen again, I don't know. Our family is devastated at the loss of our beloved dog. We don't want our precious girl to have died in vain, so I wanted to get the word out to the community in hopes that this does not happen again. I know now that I should tour a place before trusting that the facilities are safe and meet the minimum standard for access to shade and water and I recommend that you do the same.
