I have owned multiple HOA properties with different Management agents over the years. CAG had the management contract for a couple of my Townhomes. Donny and team are responsive to the needs of the HOA Board of Directors. CAG has a wealth of knowledge. Property Management companies get a bad rap because owners do not understand their HOA governing documents and how it all works. A HOA property manager (Managing agent) is not the same as a rental community Property Manager. Property Management is not a vested owner; they follow the directives of the HOA Board of Directors. After working with various Management companies, I can say that CAG is the real deal. Knowledgeable, responsive and attentive are what best sums them up.HOA members can find fault with any management company; mainly because they simply do not understand their governing documents. Education is key. Keep up the good work CAG!

We have owned our townhome for a little over a year now and have had ongoing issues with our association. When we first moved in our irrigation was broken and our yard looked like hay, there were exposed wires and a big trench in our yard for several months - talk about a lawsuit waiting to happen from the hazardous material. After a year later our irrigation was FINALLY fixed, we were cut a check for less than $100 for the “ inconveniences” when our fees weren’t comparable to what we personally had to pay out of pocket to maintain our yard. Once snow hit we were all doomed, our streets weren’t plowed for 2-3 days at some point which resulted in the neighbors car muffler breaking off in the deep snow, we could not physically get our cars out of the driveway to go to our jobs because the snow was to the hoods of our vehicles (let me mind you our fees “include” snow removal lol). Last winter our roof vent leaked into our attic resulting in moldy installation, Donny said WE would have to pay for this even though our documents say THEY are responsible for the exterior and if they maintained it like they said they would, the inside of our home wouldn’t have been damaged. We had stored our garbage and recycling outside next to our front door, after one time we were giving a warning (we were unaware this violated the HOA rules). We left it out yesterday because our recycling never came, and the neighbor offered to roll it down if the recycling truck came while we were at work, but instead we were notified that we are going to be charged a $50 “violation fee”! This HOA claims there are board meetings but they never let us know the dates, they never return your calls and they never use your money for what they say they are. The exteriors are outdated and there is stained & cracked siding. It’s come to the point that we are leaving a public review in hopes that they will void our garbage fee and keep up on the maintenance and services as promised. If nobody wants to talk about our concerns like adults, we will have the rest of the neighbors leave their honest feedback in order to save other homeowners from the mistakes of buying in this development. If you want to live in an association where they ignore your calls, requests and run your bank account dry, Kittredge Crossings is the association for you!

Fantastic company to work for the people don’t understand the level of dedication CAG has for trying to make their home the best possible place they can. They are very far to every party involved!! Love this company.

Our HOA was managed by Community Association Group (CAG) for about 15 years. I was on the Board of Directors for most of that time. I didn’t have anyone to compare them to until we hired another management company in 2021. It was quite the eye opener. Any complaints I can think of about CAG are trivial when compared to our new property manager, Associa MN. CAG was fast to respond, and knew us well, but the most important thing CAG did was to care, and they showed it by looking out for us. For instance, they had staff on site nearly every day checking the neighborhood and making sure our vendors were doing their job. CAG thought ahead, made sure we met our obligations on time, and that our income/expenses were on track. Yes, that’s their job, but I can tell you they do it well, and some property managers don’t do it at all, and that makes a lot more work for the board.CAG was replaced when some owners became upset. A hailstorm caused us to replace roofs early, and some didn’t have the large deductible covered by their HO6 policy. The deducible was spelled out long before the storm in mailings from both the insurance company and CAG, but not everyone reads all their mail.If you want your management company to handle your property management, I recommend CAG. If you are more of a “hands on” type, get Associa MN, and you can do the work yourself. Many of the reviews here are critical. Owners should understand your board of directors makes the choices of what the HOA fees are and how to spend them, not the management company. When I was on our board, I would tell owners we can do whatever they want, as long as they’re willing to pay for it.I was told in a P.R. class once that people will rarely tell anyone when they’re happy with a service but tell many when they’re upset. I guess that’s me too. I’m very upset with our current property management company, and really miss CAG. ☹

Worst HOA I have ever had the displeasure of working with. If you are thinking of buying a property with Community Association Group as your HOA, run as far away as you can. They love charging their members ridiculous fees for no particular reason and do not seem to care about the well being or safety of their members. We pay a ridiculous amount of around $50,000 annually for “general maintenance” however my building is in constant disrepair. Railings falling off the stairs, lights that are out for weeks at a time, giant scrapes and damage in the drywall in common areas, insanely loud garage opener chain that screams it hasn’t been replaced in ages. The fire alarm outside of my unit doesn’t even work properly. After a resident had a fire emergency and the alarms in the building went off I was in my unit completely unaware anything was going on until around 10-15minutes later I could smell smoke and heard a faint sound of an alarm. I opened my unit door and sure enough the fire alarms were going off, just not in front of my unit. Thankfully the fire as on the a different floor and not any of the units next to mine. This goes to show how much effort they really put into “upkeeping” the buildings the tenants live in. During the year I moved in, my motorcycle was vandalized in my garage parking space. I immediately reported it to my property manager after filing a police report. 3 phone calls and messages later I didn’t receive a single response from CAG or the property manage. However a week later when I needed an extra copy of the building key I contacted them and immediately got a response back saying it would be 20$. This company does not care about its members unless there is money for them involved. However this isn’t the end of the story. About a month later after my bike was vandalized and I repaired it, a camera was installed in the parking garage. I thought to myself “What a thoughtful act! Maybe they did receive my message and are taking security very seriously now.” After the installation I came to the realization that the camera wasn’t for the security of the cars within the garage because the camera was faced DIRECTLY at the dumpster and recycling bin only. Again CAG was in it for the money and the sole purpose of charging building residents a fee for throwing non recyclables in the recycling bin. This combined with their unlawful towing of residents to a sketchy towing company ALL the way in Minneapolis instead of Dick’s Towing company in Apple Valley (which has been documented multiple times that is where they will tow cars to). Stay as far as you can away from this association. There are so many shady practices, lies, and quite frankly I don’t even think the money on their “budget” is going to all the places they say it is.

Community Association Group is not a friendly or reliable company. I feel if a townhome Association hires a company, that company should have excellent customer service skills. I called about an issue, never got a call or email back, so I called and was talked to like I was the problem then at the end of the call Emily slammed the phone down. There is no need for the rudeness at all. Please rethink hiring this company as they are not the greatest people. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells to get answers.

This management company is unresponsive, makes excuses, and hangs up on homeowners. If you are considering this company, I have one word, RUN!

As both an owner and a board member, I was disappointed with Community Association Group and would strongly discourage any associations from using CAG as your HOA management company. When you see reviews that are as poor as CAG, you should take note. Many owners fear retribution for speaking out against CAG. Ask yourself how bad their experience must be that they are willing to risk that to warn others? Like the other reviewers, mine was just that bad.As noted in many other reviews, the attitude and tone that CAG uses to address our association members and board was rude, dismissive, unprofessional and condescending. The advice and services offered by CAG to our board were sub-par. They recommended vendors that delivered poor performance at exceptionally high prices. They failed to implement appropriate controls on pre-approval and appropriate billing support for vendor “extra work” which cost our association money. They recommended large capital projects that were poorly planned, executed and coordinated (while CAG contract allows them to charge the association up to 10% on those same projects). And they did not properly oversee their property managers even when concerns on these CAG employees were raised both by the board and owners.Once CAG became aware that we would not be renewing our contract with them, their poor service diminished even further. They took weeks, multiple emails and escalating ccs to get responses to emails from the board and owners (and they still did not reply to many emails). They opted not to attend board or owners meetings nor would they even assist with scheduling meeting rooms for those meetings. They did not attend association walk-throughs with the board and vendors. They would not provide financial support – financial statements took 2x longer to receive (and they refused to respond to the treasurer requests for them); they would not provide CD rates for reserve investments; and they would not resolve discrepancies between owner registrations and fee collections without charging extra fees. They charged us over $20k for a capital project accounted for and executed in a prior year (without proper accrual or disclosure to our auditors – thus requiring the board to work with our auditor to get those financials corrected as they did not comply with GAAP). And the tone from our association manager and company leadership became even more immature and combative.Given CAG’s poor behavior throughout our contract, I anticipated that they would be uncooperative, execute the bare minimum during our notice period, and try to find any opportunity to further drain our association’s accounts. Even with those low expectations, I was surprised by how unprofessionally CAG behaved in the last 4 months of our paid contract with them. This was not just staff at CAG, but their “executives” which demonstrates a lack of integrity, leadership and a pitiable tone-from-the top. (Aly Beckstrom signed her last email “The End” as an example of that tone). It is obvious that CAG has no concern about their reputation in the community, and that they know that once an association leaves CAG they will never return. No management company is going to be perfect, but you should be able to expect accountability, professionalism, and to have your owners, residents and board members treated with respect. You will not get that with CAG.

Community Association Group (C.A.G.) will not accept responsibility for poor customer service and unprofessionalism.CAG has a policy of reflecting blame and refuses to accept responsibility.

I think all management companies get a bad wrap. We have been through several in the time I have lived hear. CAG is local, and responds to our needs ten times quicker then international management companies.
