Dr.Schowalter and her staff are the best in town! Always take great care of my dogs. I've been coming here for over two decades and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Have been using this clinic for 30 years now and it is still the best care at the best prices!! Super knowledgeable and even more super caring! I moved to Lakeville 20 years ago and have never stopped driving all the way back to Eagan to take all my pets there! Thanks Eagan Pet for being that great!

I waited a month after my pet passed away before posting this review to try and have a clear head. Ultimately I think I've decided that I am not thrilled with this vet and believe there are better places to go. Sadly, my cat succumbed to an aggressive oral cancer. We first discovered the bump on her chin in early November and brought her in. With my regular Dr, I was given few option on how to go about pursuing understanding what it was. Dr gave me a couple of options, XRays (which I felt discouraged from because "it's difficult to get them to hold still, so it could be blurry", put her under anesthesia, or "keep an eye on it" and essentially do nothing. I did not feel like there was a sense of urgency from the doctor even though I brought up the fact that I understood it could be oral cancer. I also asked to have an end of life conversation as Reeba was 16, and did not feel like much information was offered except by myself being allowed to believe my delusions that We may get a few more years. Instead was met with a mandatory rabies shot if I wanted to keep bringing her there. that was about the extent of the conversation. Fast forward about 3 weeks to a month, after emailing them a photo of her gums being swollen around her bottom teeth, they decided to have us schedule. I dropped her off for an anasthetic discovery appointment which second doctor, a different doctor in light of my own urgency, explained well, that we were going to just get in there first to see what was going on, included x-rays. it could just be a tooth extraction, or that it could be oral cancer, and I felt she prepared me well for this possibility. In the hour I get a phone call, one no fur parent wants, with the poor news and prognosis of oral squamous cell cancer and bone degeneration. Hard to take, but okay, this is the reality. But what was really disturbing was that second doctor offered to put her down in that moment, without an ability to come and see her , or come discuss it in the office. I vehemently said no, and asked about time frame of life, to which I was met with "days." I appreciate her honesty in the severity, but am left baffled as to why one doctor would seem so different in guidance and lack of worry, than the other in this drastic prognosis (and be so quick to offer killing my pet for me without saying goodbye.) In addition, when we went to get her, the anasthetic tech was more supportive than the doctor, the doctor mentioning that she had another patient under anesthesia and couldn't see us for long (which didn't make sense if you think about the fact that they scheduled our pick up for this time.) while it's very possible it was true that she was busy, it appeared like a moment of cowardice. I understand these types of prognosis are difficult and that she was thinking of Reeba's pain.. but felt it a bit jarring to be met with that option without the time or space to have to say my goodbyes. How is it two doctors can be, not only on different pages, but different planets? Lastly, when I went to pick up pain meds for Reeba during her last days, a thoughtful candle and plaque was lit on the front desk, signaling someone else was saying goodbye to their pet that day in those moments, and that a soft voice was appreciated during that time to accommodate the owners final goodbyes. As it reminded me of what was to come, I shed a tear, but unfortunately the staff didn't seem to oblige as one member held two dogs on carriers on either side, joking and laughing loudly as she walked behind the desk behind the wall.It didn't sit right with me. Death is hard, and we did say goodbye 10 days later. I wish my first visit for this bump had better prepared me for this, I wish the doctor had more urgency in understanding the possibility. It was, at least, 10 days more than we would have had. And Reeba was a trooper up until about a day or two before. We opted for an in home euthanasia, which showed us a massive difference in care and consideration, one which we felt was eith

I've been taking my Cat here the last two years, we recently adopted a dog and gladly brought them here to start being seen. The doctors are always listening and trying to problem solve. They are helpful with my cat's vet anxiety and even was able to schedule me when they knew they would be less buy and loud.

WARNING - this clinic has lots of warning signs on the internet. Do your research - avoid this clinic!! Don't get DUPED like I did. This clinic is the worst. Dr. Showalter is, admittedly, not a dog expert. She first suggested I spend hundreds of extra dollars on test she later said have no definitive results. In the beginning she used the tests to fear me into a surgery for my pup. She claimed those tests to be positive and indicative of plasma cell growth which, and I quote, "will envelope my pups entire leg" and surgery is required. Estimated surgery cost was $800 to $1600. I asked if that estimate could be focused down a bit. I mean c'mon - who signs up for a new phone plan if it's gonna be $800-$1600 a month. Meanwhile my poor pup is suffering!!! Pressured into surgery and now a total of roughly $1700.00 later it was decided by an outside lab that it wasn't a plasma cell growth, it was ring worm. Ring worm is handled with a topical solution for about $12.00. Now my puppy has his leg all sliced open, he's been put under (very dangerous), and he's got a cast on his leg. The kicker is the doctor told me the surgery was unnecessary during a follow up. My friends laughed at the expense and how the Eagan Pet Clinic and Dr. Schowalter took advantage of a scared pet owner!!! After they told me the surgery was not needed I asked for a portion back, maybe a credit on my account, something. For two months they kept saying the person I need to speak with (Dr. Schowalter) is out of the office. I asked if they could leave a message and they said "no, you'll have to call back on a day she is here and hope she is free". I replied "I've done that for months now with no success" I would have been happy with a credit for future services. But now I'm seeing this office is greed over pet care. Upon further investigation into this company in the internet I've found it to be kinda sketchy. I've found lots of bad reviews. I now wish I wouldn't have ever brought my pup here.

Our 14 year old pup was in crisis and at the end of her life. The clinic got us in as an emergency and the vet/owner was amazing and very through with her health and our options. We went home with some pain meds to see if we could give her comfort and give us time to process. We appreciate the vet giving us options and time for us to make the choice best for our sweet pet. When we came back in, the whole staff was so comforting and sympathetic. She went so peaceful with us holding her and loving her. Amazing staff and vet!

I recently brought my new puppy into the vet. I've been a customer for years. Over the last few years the customer service has gone way down hill and their quality of service has followed. When my puppy was at their clinic they found it was infected with giardia. However when I picked my dog up they failed to inform me. A month later they advised they made a mistake and told me about the disease. For those who don't know, this is very contagious to other dogs and it got my other dog sick, and my children's dog sick. They didn't seem to care and I had to argue to have them cover the medications for all the dogs which I still ended up paying part of. Highly disappointed and they did nothing to try to remedy the situation. A customer for 10 years out the door. I will not be back. Update: we were contacted by the vet who advised we were not welcomed back to their establishment as long as this review was on this site. Needles to say we obtained our records and found a new place for my dogs.

Best care my pets have ever received. Jessica is very knowledgeable and takes time to establish a relationship with patients and their families.

Many members of my family have taken our dogs to the Eagan Pet Clinic for at least 15 years. We had a great experience until the past 3 years. Only one of the original owners remains and she is only their part time. New owners are quite young and lack good and compassionate bedside manner. Front desk staff turn over is frequent and most portray a don't care attitude if you indicate you are unsatisfied with the lack of service; whether it be delays in being able to get an appointment in a timely manner or having to wait to be seen far past your appointment time. Office calls, vaccinations and surgical services, all charges have continued to increase; more then one increase per year. This negative review is not due to the pandemic; these issues were present prior to the pandemic. I've had enough of poor service, constantly raising prices and lack of compassion shown toward my dogs and myself. Good luck to you if you take your pets to this clinic. Your initial first or second visit may be fine. But thereafter be ware.

My pets have been patients of Eagan Vet Clinic for almost 4 hrs now. I had a neuter surgery scheduled with EPC for my cat for 2wks. During this 2 wk period, I noticed a separate health issue with my cat and had him treated by EPC in the mean time before his surgery. This treatment required 2 at-home meds to be given, one of which he is still taking - surgery was scheduled for today, 2/2/2021. I called EPC yesterday to be sure it was ok for my cat to undergo surgery while still taking meds for his other health issue. The first person I spoke with in the morning said she'd ask the dr and call me "right back." Finally at the tail end of the day yesterday, a technician called me, but hadn't spoken to a dr...was simply calling me back regarding the message that was left in the first place. Her solution was to bring my cat by 9a today for surgery as planned, and if the dr felt like it was a risk after an initial exam, they would reschedule. It wasn't ideal, as it was loading all my kids up and making a trip for nothing potentially, but I agreed. Trying to get kids to where they need to be along with getting my cat where he needed to be, all with a newborn along for the ride wasn't going to be easy time-wise, but it was necessary for the cat's sake. So this morning I arrive at 850a with my cat, my newborn son and 9yr old daughter, who has to start school by 930. I call and get checked in with the desk. They say someone will call me shortly to get my cat. By 920....30 full mins of waiting, I call again to see if they can get my cat because I needed to get my daughter to school. I get put on hold for another 5mins before someone gets on the phone TO CHECK ME IN .......AGAIN!! At this point the tech asks if my cat has fasted. Unfortunately, even though I spoke with someone from EPC TWICE yesterday, they failed to mention that I needed to fast my cat. So at this point it's nearly 930a, my cat can't be seen, and my daughter is late to school. 100% waste of my time. I understand things are different these days, but they've been this way for a year now. These issues of failing to inform a patient that they need to fast before a surgery, returning phone calls without answering any questions, being nearly 30 mins late....I don't think these issues have anything to do with the pandemic. You'd think, too, that having a scheduled surgery leave because of their mistake would at the VERY least prompt a call from an office manager or some one in customer service to try to rectify the situation, but nothing. Pretty sad. Looks like routine money makers are all this clinic are interested in.

They do a fine job but feels like they are on the high side with pricing. Paying for the convenience, I guess.

So far, so good. Brought my 4mo pup for our first visit today. All of the staff were kind and Dr. Paige Holum sat right on the floor at my dog's level for most of the visit. She gave a lot of great advice and perspective I hadn't thought of before for training my newest fur baby. I don't have a lot of history with the Eagan Pet Clinic yet, but plan to continue care there for any of Zeus' needs!

I have been coming to Eagan Pet Clinic for about ten years. I've seen every doctor and they are all AMAZING! I see Dr.Peterson more regularly because my French Bulldog Orville has had many health concerns and she is always so attentive and makes sure to explain everything to me in a way I understand (basically in layman's terms lol) The whole staff at EPC is so kind, they always greet us with smiles and make sure we are comfortable. I also find them to be extremely affordable compared to vets I've been to in the past! I don't think I've ever had a dog that enjoys going to the vet more than Orville and that wouldn't be without the incredible staff at EPC
