This is a store with beautiful food and a thoughtful gift shop. But I won't give them my business my mmmmmmm kj This used to be where I went is where I went when I wanted to create some easy meals - and it wasn't a place I would go easily because things were most definitely a splurge (and as I finish the review I started about a year agoYes, the items are spendy. Many are fun. This is a also a place where it is easy to get lost for a bit. There's a gift section that is lovely. I could go on. But, tonight's tiny splurge was kinda ruined. How, you might ask? Employees. This store is too elegant and high-end to have a system to announce the store is closing. So, as it gets close to the 10 pm closing time, they let you know personally. I was well aware of the time. I was finishing grabbing a few last things. I didn't have much in my cart. But this was not a cheap shopping trip. I was still well within the time and stopped to grab 3 more items from the deli case - these are not inexpensive items. The owners of Kowalski's would probably be glad for my last minute stop here. But as I'm grabbing my $7 macaroni and cheese - this on my way to the cash register, another employee comes over and tells me to go to the cash register, it is closing time. My watch shows it is not. I tell him I'm aware if the time and headed there. This would be uncomfortable and unwelcoming in any store. It was especially unwelcoming in one where you spend a bit extra to treat yourself. I let the employees at the register know that multiple personal reminders were uncomfortable and rather embarrassing - could they let their management know that adapting to a system like Target uses would feel better and more welcoming than how things had just gone? And that part of why I spent the money to come to their store was to be treated differently and to treat myself... getting reminded that the store was closing multiple times by different people was uncomfortable. I also let the man who had been so direct in his instruction to get checked out know that it was too direct. He never apologized, even though the time I was stepping out was just then the store's actual closing time. He just said there'd be a manager in in the morning. Eh ... I don't have the time or energy to spend letting them know about this. I share my story here. I tell you their products are nice, they are expensive, and the customer service is not great. I can't say I necessarily blame them after several hours working a hard job. And that's the other reason I won't call - yes, that sucked. It ticked me off. But they were following

My family’s favorite grocery store in the fall and cold winter months because of their hot food to go and their dessert options.

My human wanted to spend a few hundred on "fancy" groceries. They don't have a lot of inventory, except cheese. Two stars for great cheese selection. Most areas just have a few things spread out on the shelf trying to make it look full, just a couple of regular items at about double the regular price. There's visible mold on the mint. There's fancy purple asparagus but it's shriveled up and old. One of the meat fridges smells like something is turned. One of the employees followed us around until I asked him about the shrimp we were looking for, then he stopped.

In the bustling heart of Minneapolis-St. Paul, the Kowalski's Summer Entertaining Event proved to be nothing short of extraordinary for both me and my children. Held on the picturesque Saturday of May 20, the event was an exuberant feast for the senses and an immersive experience for all attendees. The occasion was punctuated with a sense of community and a shared love for food, which struck a chord with every participant. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as soon as we walked through the door, with fellow patrons eagerly exploring the wares and tastings on offer. My kids' eyes gleamed as they saw the spread laid out before them, the tantalizing aroma of Kowalski's Certified Organic 100% Grass-Fed Steak wafting through the air. We nibbled on the dry-rub chicken breast sandwiches, the tenderness and intense flavor confirming why Kowalski's is held in such high regard. The sweet potato fries grill kits were another highlight, with the kids particularly enjoying the fun of assembling their own snack. As we moved on to the picnic-perfect salads, we were treated to a cornucopia of fresh and colorful produce, each bite a celebration of the season. The Triple Berry Shortcake was a beautiful summer dessert, the layers of fresh berries, fluffy cake, and whipped cream creating a harmonious symphony of taste. The selection of cheese paired with crackers and various accompaniments was another treat. The cocktail and mocktail mixers added a lively element to the event, the kids delighting in the sweet, fizzy concoctions made just for them. And the chips and dips! They were a hit, the perfect snack as we roamed the store and sampled the delights on offer. But the magic didn't stop at the food. The two summer gift baskets, which were up for grabs, added an element of thrill to the event. My kids were buzzing with anticipation, fingers crossed in hopes that they would be the lucky ones.Leaving the event, we carried with us not only full stomachs but hearts full of joy and a renewed sense of community. Our appreciation for Kowalski's only deepened, and the Summer Entertaining Event became a cherished memory for our family. It was a testament to the power of food in bringing people together and creating experiences that are memorable, enjoyable, and utterly delicious. This event wasn't just an entertaining shopping trip; it was a valuable opportunity for us as a family to connect over shared experiences and tastes. Kowalski's Market truly went above and beyond to make it a memorable day for everyone present. All in all, it was a day we'll look back on with fondness and joy, eagerly anticipating the next Kowalski's event.

On last Saturday evening Feb 25th around 8 pm we went to the Eagan store 1st time with my family and had really poor experience; specifically the old lady looked very rude and disrespectful; as soon as we enter she looked very annoyed ; we felt very embarrassed and it came to us like we came from some different world as she looked us like that; also we noticed she tried to say something about us to her co-workers with annoyed face.We went there 1st time and did shopping but felt really upset with such kind of behaviors' . Never ever faced such kind of unexpected gesture in any shops, groceries or anywhere only except this Eagan Kowalski's.Generally I do not like to give such kind of feed back but the situation compelled me to give such disappointed feedback.

This is in Minnesota, Eagan Minnesota. I visit my children and grandchildren there several times a year. I live in a rural area of Southern Wisconsin, with one grocery store. So, I very much enjoy shopping at Kowalskis, bringing back specialty items not available to me. And their " morning buns" are delicious....my son makes sure we have them while I visit. Haven't told them that I make a stop on my way out of town to get morning buns to take home to Wisconsin!

Kowalski's Eagan has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in a grocery store. I'd say 3/4 times that I go there staff are passive aggressive and rude.I've had staff talk to eachother my entire transaction at the register, older women cashiers who scoff when I politely ask for paper vs plastic bags. Last week a bagger didn't rubber band my salad and it went flying all over my already full grocery bag. Then there was the time that the woman at the deli gossiped about me to her coworker while I was still at the counter, because I politely asked for more veggies and less meat on my plate (she still filled my container with meat).I've been going to Trader Joe's and Target for other groceries for years and have never once had an experience like Kowalski's. In fact, I leave Trader Joe's in a better mood than I came in because the staff are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their products.I'm done paying premium prices for absolute horrible customer service. I'm giving my business to Lund's and Byerly from here on out.

I went there for Starbucks and candy and the candy selection was so bad it made me go to the dollar store and get candy there. Although the Starbucks was good and the customer service was good, the worker Hailey at Starbucks was good and got our drinks out quickly and deliciously.
