I had a WONDERFUL experience here. The selection of clothes were beautiful and affordable and the shopkeeper was extremely kind and helpful. I bought four beautiful dresses for my sister’s wedding all at an affordable price and I couldn’t be more happier.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!Very bad experience. Firstly, I'd say give them a call and check ahead of time to see if they're actually available. They are closed most times. When I went there, she was forcing me to buy a dress that I didn't like. It was too loose on me as well, and she put a stupid pin at the back and was convinced that I would buy it. She also snatched our phone to take a picture of it to show me how beautifully it fit me (It didn't).When I said I wasn't ready to buy and was still exploring, she completely shut down. She then went and sat down with her phone, and point-blank told me that she'll show me more dresses from the inventory if and only if I'm ready to buy. DO NOT go there unless you are completely out of choices for Indian clothes in town.

Went to try to get something for my friend’s wedding (before reading the reviews) and once I asked for what I was looking for she said she’d see if she had anything in my size. (I’m plus size) She found TWO items that looked the same but were different colors. When I tried them on she insisted that the second one I tried on fit even though it clearly didn’t. She said I could get it taken out even though there was no extra fabric to take out from. She insisted and told me she’d give it to me for 50% off which would be $62. Which seeing the quality of the clothes is outrageous. They looked very cheaply made. When I didn’t say I was buying it she told me to take it off cause I was sweating on it. Then after I took it off and I told her I would look for other options she said “Well I was gonna give it to you for $62 but okay. You could also not go to the wedding.” I left after that. She was incredibly rude, pushy, and it’s not like she’s a size 0 either. Would give this place 0 stars if I could.

Went there to buy traditional cloth for my wife. The person at the store was rude and insulting. Told us to go somewhere else if we could find better clothes and price. She says the clothes are good quality only but in reality all clothes seems tacky and bad quality. She was very disrespectful to us.If I could, I would give this store 0.I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit or buy from this store.

I often travel to most cities to check out and learn about culture & fashion and I can say coming to Shantie Plaza was an experience like no other. The highlight focus of Indian clothing was actually really fascinating to learn about whether you’re looking to buy or not. It was a really friendly welcoming store that gave you the tour around the culture as a whole.Definitely would recommend to anyone that wants to go check out new fashion styles. You can be from any ethnic background and walk out looking like the King or Queen you are! Will definitely be back!

I came here trying to find a blouse for a sari for a friend of mine. We needed something simple and came here as a last resort. The shop owners first question to us was “is she skinny?”. I replied that skinny is subjective. Based on the other reviews, the shop owner clearly has issues catering to anyone larger than a small. After circling the store a few times, the shop owner had no interest in helping me, dismissing my questions and hurrying me to leave. If you want to come here to be judged for not being a size 0 this is the place for you. Also, the quality of clothing here is terrible. I overheard the shop owner tell other customers that she only gets the best quality of clothes from India. If the best quality of clothes is found on the side of the road then she would be correct. She probably buys them for around $20 and charges unsuspecting Americans 10x the price. From a desi person, please don’t buy these clothes for your South Asian friends wedding because no one would be caught dead wearing clothes like this.

came here to look for a basic article of clothing for a friend, if I could rate this store a 0, I would. As soon as we walked in we were ignored, and looked down upon by the owner. She told us she didn’t have anything in our size, and we said it wasn’t for us but still she was being insistent. She was very rude and insulting. Thinks her clothes are the best. She claims to buy the highest quality clothes from India. But, most of her clothes are tacky, her attitude was also very tacky. Better off getting higher quality items from an online shop, don’t waste your time or money here.

Wow. I had the most pleasant experience today ever. Me and my husband walked around a mall just to kill time and came across this store. The woman behind the counter was an older woman who said she was from Guyana. I’d never actually heard of that place before but after going into shanties plaza I decided to indulge in the culture. I purchased one of the brightly colored traditional garment’s that the woman wear. I couldn’t believe it. I felt like royalty. I felt like a queen. And I just had to say something. Ladies. If you ever hit up Eagan outlet mall. Make sure your husband buys you one. I forget what the Dress is called. But the store name was shanties plaza. A must. See

I was at the Eagan outlet mall doing some shopping and I came across the coolest little store. A traditional Guyanese clothing shop. It had bright vibrant colors. An incredible array of design. The shop was meticulously set up. It had multiple tvs. It had gold charms and bedazzled clothing pieces. It was such an experience. If your ever in MN at the Eagan mall. Shanties plaza. Is the place to go.

My wife and I visited Shantie’s store a few weeks ago for the first time. VERY unique and wonderful energy. The best energy comes from Shantie herself! Very helpful and friendly, my wife picked up a summer dress and absolutely loves it. Today we noticed that Shantie started carrying Vika’s Essentials Organic skincare made locally in Burnsville. Thank you Shantie, your store is a hidden treasure ❤️

It looked nice from the showcase. Inside there are many gem stones and accessories other than Indian clothing. Since we were looking at the gem stones for a long time, Shantie spoke to us about the meaning of them and she seemed genuine and sincere. But when we asked about prices, it seems that she was scamming on us. A tiny piece of gem stone for $5 after Christmas discount. You are right. She was willing to give me discount if I bought many, but when I decided on two, she said after discount $10. I was this close to just leave the store without buying any, but my daughter already have pinned an eye on a special she liked, so I ended up buying them. But after referring to online prices, I am so certain that I got ripped off big time. If you are not familiar with what she’s selling, you will be cheated and ripped off in this store. Be careful with those without price tags, which is everything except clothing.
