It's a smaller JCPenney's and they have weird hours so check online before you go. They do not open during the week until 11:00 a.m. but the returns was quite quick for the products I bought online

When checking out I had to wait longer than normal because the 2nd cashier was busy talking to a friend and they both had their phones out. I expect that from teenagers not full grown adults

The store manager named Mary is one of the worst managers and humans I have ever encountered in a long time. My mother walked up to her while she was having a conversation with a friend about FOOD, and asked if she could help us with pricing as there is no one in the shoe department. She rolls her eyes and looks at my mom and says “I’m busy you can go find a counter” wow, a Indian man walks up to her right after she says this to my mom and asks where the kids department is she rolls her eyes again and says ugh over there and turns her back to him. With the same breaths she tells her friend “these kinds of people annoy me” I’m sorry so non white people annoy you is what you are implying as my mother and I are not white. We walk to the counter and ask to speak the manager and guess who walks up MARY! She then proceeds to tell us we are rude for talking to her!! When my mother says I will call Customer service and we heard your comment she said “call I don’t care”. Mary is an ignorant white woman who doesn’t care to hide her racism and ignorance. Jcpenny needs to realize that this woman is a lawsuit waiting to happen! You never speak to people like that, neither us or the man after us where rude to her, we asked nicely for help but was meet with racism and sarcasm. She should not be working in that store. This was pathetic beyond belief. We will never go back to this location.

Girlfriend and I went to return some items she got online. I got to the counter and the woman complained that she had to go on break. After processing most of the return she encountered an issue and she just handed us the two items she couldn't figure out and said she couldn't do it and left. Either treat your employees better so they're not miserable, or if you treat them well, don't keep around miserable employees.
