Place is super understaffed so I do feel somewhat bad for the employees. That being said the guy who helped me was a pretty big jerk and it felt like he was frustrated that he had to help me.

Came in to buy a guitar for my son. Great selection but no customer service. Walked in with my kids and in the 20 min I was in the store, not once did any staff acknowledge us.

I emailed the Bloomington Guitar Center about purchasing a $1,400 guitar and never received a response. Sweetwater was extremely helpful, their customer service was excellent and they gladly sold me the guitar I was looking for. I was so pleased with their level of service that I actually ended up buying an amp and some accessories too. Do business with Sweetwater.

An incredibly strange visit. Saw that they had a DJ deck in stock online only to not find it available on the floor. Whatever, they've got some other decks to try out on the floor, right? They were all unplugged, frozen, and in some cases straight up damaged. Also saw headphones online that I'd like to try that were allegedly in stock; also not available.Wandered around a bit to waste time now that the sole reason I was in there was now kaput. Visible layers of dust on a lot of equipment, lots of damage to some of the guitars (and not in the "relic" kinda way) and just a lot of... Visible grime everywhere. Messy floors both from display movement and from customers. Even found some graffiti written in dust around the guitars.I left empty-handed and mildly shaken. I talked with a worker, who was kind and responsive, but wasn't able to help me find what I wanted. Should thousand dollar instruments be displayed with dust? I'd buy somewhere else. 1 extra star for the decent chat with the employee.

Half the employees were too busy to help me and the other half were too busy talking to each other and ignoring me.I left and went to Groth Music down the street.

I’ve been five times now. They’re always understaffed and undertrained. Nobody helps on the sales floor. You stand in line at the front counter or back counter regardless if you’re buying a $1k guitar or just needing a question about “where is ___” answered. On multiple occasions I’ve asked about discounts GC has posted on their national website only to be told by an associate “I don’t know how to enter this/that into the system…” Invariably, you can wait 30-minutes for a manager that may or may not know either—or you can decide to go somewhere else and spend thousands there instead. I grew up in a music city, and this chain isn’t always this bad. This Bloomington GC has been this slow and inefficient since Pre-COVID. It’s obviously a top down issue.

What a weird place. One week before Christmas, I walk in for guitar strings, not one person comes up to help. No hello, goodbye, thank you-nothing.No surprise that Amazon is the retail of choice these days.

While the staff is usually fairly friendly, staff is also very often nowhere to be found, though if you do find someone don’t get your hopes up too high, rather be prepared to be told they’re too busy to help and continue waiting.

Dropped my guitar off 2 weeks ago for a set up. Never got a call to know it was ready. And it still is messed up. This experience was awful. But what happened today was worse. I waited nearly 20 minutes to get help. While the guy at counter helped a man. And then had to put a “stool together” I get the vibe from this location that unless you’re a man they won’t help you. Disgusting. Will never come back.
