According to public records, their license to operate in MN was revoked in May 2025. Roof was completed in 2022 and recently called to inquire about questionable workmanship covered under “5 year warranty”. Fascia covering was not even secured and was improperly installed. No response was ever received to my inquiry. Tried to call both their MN and NE office and all phone numbers are disconnected.

I get that businesses buy numbers and then spam people relentlessly, but Viking Contractors take it to a new level. I have repeatedly replied “stop” and when that didn’t work I called them and the person I spoke to said they would take my number off the list. Then I get this. Like is this a joke? Viking Contractors certainly is. Wouldn’t do business with a company this unprofessional, look elsewhere.

Excellent communication throughout the project. Good job cleaning up after project close, even had the courtesy to repair a couple storm screens that became slightly damaged during roof replacement. Highly professional team that knows what they’re doing on the trade and business side of things. 100% recommend!

Poor quality workmanship! We were catfish in and it took them, two tries to complete the job. Bad communication and only out for the insurance checks. I will not refer them to anyone.

Jesse was great to work with. The inspection was quick, and he not only helped answer our questions, but also gave us tips on what we should do in the future. I appreciate his time!

Terrible terrible terrible communication until it’s time to get their check. Then they call literally every single day to see if the insurance check is received. They also promise services that can’t even get done and lie about the reasoning. I had to hound them to schedule my roof because the guy FORGOT to finish the paperwork. Then he lied and said he did and it was the office. And don’t expect any promised follow ups unless you call. They will not call you back. They will just keep apologizing when you call back and complain . I do not recommend!!

UPDATE 8/20
Latest update... surprisingly there is one more. My project is still not complete and I withheld my final payment. I attempted to have them come back so many times and they just did not complete the work. I called, emailed, text, documented everything and the owner said they would complete the work. It's August and still nothing. Roof season is almost done. But NOW I received a letter from their attorney demanding final payment. I am not going to hand over $13,000 for damaged shingles, leaking gutters, which will eventually lead to my house being damaged. I have over 10 years of property management experience, construction, and general contracting and I am shocked that this company still holds a GC license in MN. DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD. HOLD PAYMENT TILL ABSOLUTELY COMPLETED!
UPDATE 2/20
My experience is one of many. I am typically not a keyboard warrior, but this is a terrible company of something that will affect your livelihood. Came to an agreement with the owner to receive a credit on the account, but the owner changed the total to someone thing that was not even close. I will now be filing a complaint to the BBB and taking this up with the secretary of state. If you do not have knowledge about construction, roofs, remodeling, do not use this contractor. They have tried to skirt many things by, thinking I did not have the knowledge. I have pointed out deficiencies and they have been nothing but combative since day 1. You will regret your decision if you move forward. Do not fall for their sales tactics at the very beginning. The owner Jacob Thompson is a terrible business owner who will laugh at you over the phone and not take ownership for his sub-contractors that mess up your property. I am honestly waiting for new issues to pop up from his companies poor work. I guarantee you will have buyer's remorse if you move forward with this company.

I typically do not leave negative reviews, but please save yourself your time and frustration. If you move forward with Viking, you will most certainly need to be concerned for your safety. After months and months of phone calls from Viking harassing me for payment, even though the project has not been completed, I have finally got through to someone. There was damage caused by Viking to the new roof they installed by their own gutter crew. There were several marred shingles by them by putting up their extension ladder with the dirt feet in the downward position. They did this to many areas on the porch roof. They also installed the gutters for my garage in a not functional, not original, and not requested way. Many things that they did were done completely incorrectly. The reps are not responsive when you have a complaint and all of their contractors are subbed out, which means that Viking does not have a good grip on who is working on people's homes, which explains as why the quality of my project was a nightmare. I spoke with Jake, who is the owner of Viking, and he stated he could give me a credit for $300. I requested at least $1,000 credit, which is more than reasonable. The whole project was totaled around $28,000. This left Viking a fair amount of margin for profit. He was hostile over the phone and would not budge apologize or anything to exercise his customer service skills.

One of the worst GC's I've ever used. Coming from 10 years of construction, I have no idea how VC operates on a day to day basis. They are not responsive, not consistent. I sent a call to the office asking when my project would begin several days in a row and nothing came back. One day a crew showed up and started demo on my home. Was not prepared or anything. Then during the entire construction period they had no respect for my property. Destroyed all of my plants, did not tarp off areas, caused damaged to my personal property. VC got me in for hail damage but at the cost it was not worth it. I am still finding nails everywhere in my grass.

Some of it was kind of weird communication about some payments and stuff like that. Room for improvement. There was also miscommunication about removing gutter guards —-but what’s important is that they righted and errors promptly upon request and they did an awesome job overall. So I would use them again and I would still recommend them to people. You should use them. They do really good work from what I can tell.

Viking installed a new roof in the fall of 2022 after about 6 months of back and forth. The install crew showed up an unannounced day late, and the team proceeded to leave a pile of garbage on the front lawn for over a month until persistent begging finally resulted in a reluctant pickup.
20 months later we have a clearly identified water leak in the roof. Viking sent a crew to fix (under warranty) and was not surprisingly unable to find the issue, whereas 12 hours earlier a reputable area roofer quickly identified the source of leakage (poor workmanship around a vent) and quickly provided a plan to address.
Overall we received terrible communication after the “sale”, poor workmanship and general disappointment in a $20K project. Classic storm chaser that provides great upfront sales material, poor workmanship and trash communication.

These people are nothing but spammers. They'd rather harass people who don't wan their services or even need their services than take care of the customers. So when you pay them, you're not getting what you pay for. You're basically paying their phone bill so they can relentlessly spam the same people over and over again. They're not even competent enough to know when someone doesn't want their sham services.

If you appreciate someone trespassing on your property and taking photos without ever having contact, this could be your next contractor.

Terrible company, not to be trusted!! DO NOT USE THEM OR SCHEDULE THEM!! Contacting people at 7 in the morning, unsolicited, then when asked to remove the information and do not make contact, harasses them further. Any company willing to do such unscrupulous behavior is not a company you ever want to have around. They are NOT local either. ALSO: BEWARE - the majority of 5 star reviews for this company are fake. They purchased reviews on both Google and Facebook. When you run software to remove the false reviews this company has a 1.2 star rating, that tells you all you need to know. Fraudulent behavior, there are plenty of local businesses that do a much better job, who are honest and treat people better.

Where do I begin? The guy that showed up to look at my roof couldn't speak English, he was in a rusty pickup truck with Florida license plates. They were working on my neighbor's roof and left it half finished and never returned to do the work. The local news station ran a story on these guys and they are frauds and thieves, I think out of Minnesota. Better to use someone who is local. Don't go with this company, Nebraskans deserve better.
