“Mauer Brothers’ is a great place to stop for a drink and meet with a friend or talk with locals. The people of Elba were welcoming, and the conversations were real. You’ll learn surprising stories about the people and places there if you take the time to listen. The bar is still owned by the descendants of the original owner from 1890, and there I learned the story of the Fire Tower and that of Black Bill of Elba (and saw his legendary trout mounted). Beer prices were fabulous. Stop here with a friend the next time you’re near Whitewater State Park in the evening!”

“Prices are very reasonable and comparable to bigger stores in Roch. (So it's not worth going into Roch). The store is very clean and inviting. The beer is cold. And Steph is a real delight. Would I recommend to a friend? Nope... I would demand it.”
