Poor customer service. I called on Thurday and was informed I'd be able to pick up 20footer on Friday morning. Come Friday morning, I am told all trucks are no longer available. Would not recommend this location.

Worst experience. I'm all about providing customer care and the people at this particular business do not care about customer service. I purchased a u haul at 4pm and since tomorrow is thanksgiving they require the truck to be returned by 10am. When I mentioned that I should be able to keep it for 24hrs they stated no because they wouldn't be opened and if I return it past 10am I will be charged another day. I said well I should get a discount then since you're charging me full price for a fraction of the time. The lady there was so incredibly rude and laughed in my face saying "you aren't getting any discount " they must not care about referral business. Especially since they don't know that I'm a realtor and all my clients need moving trucks . I'll make sure that they all know to stay away from this location and to give their business to people who have customer care.

I would just like to say that the customer service at S&J Moving Supplies is sub-par. During the week prior to my rental, I requested a 17' truck. There were none available at the location I selected and was automatically switched to a different location. I did not want to go to that particular location because of the area so I called and had it switched to S&J Moving Supplies, who confirmed that they did have a 17' truck available. When I arrived, a gentleman was helping me and stated that my 15' foot truck was ready. I told him my reservation was for a 17' truck. The older lady who was also working there was helping another customer and chimed in that she was the one who spoke with me earlier in the week and that yes, there was a 17' truck available at the time of the phone call. The gentleman researched their computer and said the 17' truck went out for service. The lady again chimed in that it was a call by corporate and they did not have any control over that. She said it went out for service on Wednesday or Thursday (my rental pickup day was Friday), so it was available when we talked on the phone. I told the gentleman that it would have been nice to get a telephone call notifying me of the change in reservation and why. The lady stated that she was "pretty sure" that she called me (if she had called me, I wouldn't have been upset at finding out at the time of my pickup, so clearly she did not call me). She then said (with a very rude tone) that there was no way I was going to find a truck bigger than 15' within a 200 mile radius. I feel that this comment was unnecessary. I was just shocked that there was a change in the reservation and did not get notified. I could have tried to look into another company or location for something that I wanted. The lady then told the gentleman (she was done helping her customer) that she was going to do the walkaround and lock up the gates. After she left, the gentleman very calmly and nicely explained that the only difference between the 15' and 17' truck was that the 17' truck had an extra foot in the "attic space" and an extra foot at the end of the truck, so we were only losing a foot of floor space for the main part of the truck. That calmed me down and I thanked him for explaining that to me.I was able to do what I needed in one day and did not need to keep the truck for two days, so I went to go return it Saturday around 3:45pm since I knew they closed at 4:30pm. When I was pulling up, the gentleman and lady were walking out of the office together. The lady told the gentleman to get the keys from me and she proceeded to a vehicle. He collected the keys to me and said they would process the return the next day as they were leaving to go do something and would email my receipt to me as well as reimburse me for the extra day and any miles that were not used. I feel that it was unprofessional for both of them to be leaving before their posted closing time and luckily I caught them before they left. One minute longer and I would have been stuck with the truck for an additional day that I did not need. The gentleman was very nice and calm, but I would not recommend this location based on the lady's attitude, lack of communication, and unprofessionalism.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Steve, possibly the owner, I really don't care who he is, but if you don't mind being threatened at a 8:00 in the morning with having him calling the police and reporting the uhaul stolen, then sure, do business with this location. He didn't care that my reservation was delayed 4 days. He didn't care I had to drive 71 miles in the wrong direction to pick up the truck. He doesn't care about you as a customer. He's just worried about himself. If I didn't drive all that way to get the truck and it went to someone else, he wouldn't even have a truck to rent to someone. He's also a liar. After speaking to corporate, they said there were no reservations for that truck. Nor can he call the police and report the vehicle stolen. Maybe if he needed to get a truck so bad, maybe he should have went to Sunnyvale to pick up the truck and drove in this heat wave with no a/c.

This place is a complete disaster. We reserved a truck for contactless pickup last week and when we went to go pick it up, we ended up being told to go inside the store where there was a long line of angry customers. We ended up waiting for a half an hour just to be told there were "technical" issues with the truck we reserved and that we were out of luck. Outrageous. I feel bad for the kids working fb here who were trying there hardest. But the manager should be fired and the county should shut this hell hole down for being a public health threat.

I had someone hire my husband to move some large items. I called Uhaul, Steve jumped through hoops to get the truck booked for me. I hung up and the person called back and had to cancel on short notice. I felt so bad calling Steve right back to cancel after all he did to get it booked but it was no problem and I was treated kindly.

On Friday, July 24 at 1:00 pm I completed an online reservation to pick up a 26' truck at S&J Moving Supplies. I received a confirmation email with a reservation number about 5 minutes later. Pick-up date/time was Sunday July 26 at 8:00 am. When I arrived on Sunday at 8:00 am Steve told me my reservation was cancelled. I assured him I did not cancel it as I arranged for family to come from out of town to help me move and showed him my confirmation email. I told him I never received an email that my reservation was cancelled. He stated someone cancelled it on Saturday. I assured him it was not me. He offered me a 20' truck instead. I was certainly NOT happy about this, but I had no other choice. He asked if I wanted insurance and I told him I did not. He replied I would be responsible for any damage to the truck and auto insurance does not cover a U-Haul truck. I thanked Steve for his information, but again confirmed I did NOT want insurance. Before leaving his office I asked him when he closed that day. He told me 4:00 PM. He asked when I would return the truck. I told him I would try for 4:00 PM, but if not then early Monday morning. After finishing the move around 3:00 PM I called to confirm their closing time of 4:00 PM. Steve answered the phone and told me 3:30 PM! I had to rush to fill the truck with gas, but I made it in time. Aaron checked me out upon my return and gave me my receipt. I asked him to clarify the SafeMove fee of $14. He stated that was insurance. I told him I told Steve I did NOT want the insurance. Twice. Aaron said he could not reverse the charge and to speak to Steve instead. After telling Steve I was charged insurance despite telling him this morning I did not want it he told me I must have selected "Accept" on the touchpad in the morning. I told him I could not have selected "Accept" because he was unable to run my card for the deposit due to his touchpad not working and that he had to manually enter my card number. He said they were now closed and he would have to reverse the charge in the morning. Due to the cancelling of my reservation, not receiving the 26' truck I needed, being told they closed at 4pm when they actually closed at 3:30pm and being charged insurance when I told Steve twice I did not want insurance I do not suggest using this U-Haul location. I will certainly not use them again.

This location charged me a $60 cash deposit for a reservation I had secured with my credit card, on my u-haul account, Online. They said their system was down, but they had enough access to get all of my information from the reservation I set up online the day before, in order to transfer that to a whole new contract, in which they upcharged me for things I didn't authorize, or sign for.Turns out that I couldn't even pick up my rental equipment without handing them cash. They then stated when I returned early with the equipment, that their system was back up and running, but had charged each and every customer a cash deposit for any equipment that went out today. After hearing a worker at the register say that her till was going to be short $100 and oh well, the man helping me laughed and said his would be short too. He then charged me, out of the cash deposit I had to give them earlier as a deposit and short changed me. My previously altered reservation was deleted, and they created an entirely new reservation in the store that I did not agree to in order to change the dollar amount. He then changed something when I questioned him about short changing me, and he handed me an extra few dollars. I couldn't afford to spend another second here, so I got my old receipt and left. I won't ever be doing business here again.Very questionable!!!Avoid this location at all costs. As a matter of fact, I will not ever be doing business with u-haul again, and I have rented trailers from them for years! I'll buy one and keep my own money safe.

I called politely asked to speak to owner or manager the rude gal said speaking!! Explained the situation elderly parents being lied to she said "OK IS THAT IT? Are you done?!" So lie and jeopardize lives then be rude ...?? I have contacted corporate and an attorney will not stop until this business is out of business. Please be safe stay as far away from this place as you can!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR SAFETY OR WELL BEING PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. I FOUND OUT THEIR ACTIONS ARE CRIMINAL AND WORKING ON BRINGING CHARGES

I had a confirmed reservation placed at 10:29AM. When I was driving there, I received a phone call from Carissa at 10:52AM who greeted me with an attitude and stated, we may give up your reservation because there are customers right in front of us. I informed them about my reservation and all the information confirmed, but she insisted to say, "we honor the customers that walk in before the reservation." When asked if there were another truck in lot, they said it would be either across town or get a 20ft truck for an additional price. CLEARLY they made a mistake and continue to say we honor the walk-in customers. I attempted to call her three times about what to do from here. When I arrived, Carissa said "we gave away the truck as I told you over the phone." Because she did not want to continue arguing with me, I requested for a manager. Carissa said, "we don't have a manager as we kind of manage things on our own." She said to call the hotline for UHaul but I requested someone I can directly speak to. She went to go talk to Steve (supposedly the manager). I spoke with Emily (another employee) and ask if they honor reservations before walk-ins, and she replied, "we would honor the reservations first." Completely dumbfounded to what service they are actually providing. Once Carissa returns, she gave me the 20ft for the price that was originally taken. It was great that they accommodated the inconvenience but then I was whistled at me like I'm a pet by Steve (who I didn't know) saying, "truck needs to be back by 7:45AM."By this point, I just wanted to take the truck and leave. Not one moment did I ever use profanity or negative statements. If I can give this place no stars, I would. Highly recommend NOT to ever do business with this retailer. Thanks UHaul for the memorable experience.

Just dropped of my rental u haul, and was overcharged significantly on mileage. Now, I know I error'd in not checking the mileage on departure. However, when I politely bring it to the attention of Celeste who had helped me, I was shocked to have the owner rudely interject I should have checked, that it was highlighted all over the contract. Ok, I wasn't arguing, just inquiring if it was an easily correctable error on their end. Had to be since I drove maybe ten miles and was charged for 38!?! Also, upon initially returning the truck I was told to go on, they would email a receipt. Realizing they never asked for an email, I went back. Had I not done that, I never would have received the receipt or noticed the error....and probably wouldn't have followed up due to the stress of the move. Seems scammy. I'll be reaching out to corporate.

UPDATE (JANUARY 2020) Well, came back here to rent a trailer. Excellent customer service from the young lady at the front desk and good courteous service from a young man in the yard who helped hitch up the trailer. Dropping off the trailer at the end of the day was a breeze. I'll give it a strong 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a review for the storage part of this company, but you'll be dealing with the same people for a U-Haul rental....................................I planned on doing a bad review, but it looks like many people beat me to it. I've been doing business with these people FOR YEARS. Paid on time every month. I just went to pick up my trailer. Apparently, they moved my trailer (without my permission). In doing so, they broke the light assembly on my license plate. When I asked about it the response was, "We're not responsible. It's in your contract." You're not responsible??! Not even a sorry! I'll never trust this company with my property again! After all, THEY'RE NOT RESPONSIBLE.
