Took my boys here to fish and camp during Labor Day weekend and we all absolutely loved it! Large campsites, (with power) fishing boat rentals (good pricing) they have a nice beach, (that I found some beach glass on, which was cool! I would recommend water shoes for those who have sensitive feet as there are rocks but it’s a safe beach for little ones!) they have paddle boards and kayaks that are free to use, we had so much fun on the paddle boards! They also have lots of life jackets to use. The lake is great fishing with endless beautiful views, there’s a damn nearby (federal damn) that we also fished at and caught quite a lot of fish (my son caught his personal best bass there and my other son caught his pb walleye ) and the sunset views by the docks at the campground are stunning 😍 Tristen, one of the guys that works there, was so kind and helpful, he took the time to address my son and let him know if he needed anything at all to flag him down and ask, I really appreciated how he took the time to speak to my son like he was an adult also, it was so cute! We can’t wait to go back when the leaves are in full color! 10/10 on location, views, the people, the fishing! Literally it was perfect! It was an unforgettable trip! 🤩 thank you to the resort for being so amazing, we will make time every year to camp here, what a hidden gem ! I also included some photos from our trip! ☺️🇺🇸🎣

Sugar Point is a great family friendly Resort on Leech Lake. There are 2 playgrounds for the kids & lots of room for them to run & play. There are arts & crafts & bingo for the kids to do during the week at the office. Also there is an indoor/outdoor heated pool with lots of room to swim. The owners & workers at the resort are extremely kind and go above and beyond to help make your stay great!
As a side note we had a slight mishap and our boat was flooded at the docks, and all of the staff did not hesitate to step in and do whatever it took to resolve he situation and help get it back out of the water. Very awesome people and couldn’t ask for a better place to vacation at!

Sugar Point Resort has been an amazing place to vacation the last 2 years. Christie and Jamie are such caring owners. If you forget anything, they are more than willing to help. Longville is also a short trip away and is a quaint little town to visit, especially on Wednesdays for the turtle races in the summer. Tristan and Earl, who also work there, are very helpful and knowledgeable. The cabins and pool are always very clean. It's very family friendly, great for little ones. The location is great for fishing, and you don't have to go very far from the resort for northern or walleye on Leech Lake! You also get such beautiful views of the sunsets there! It feels like a home away from home and is hard to leave at the end of the trip.

This is a perfect way to get away from it all! Things are spread out for allot of privacy but you still see other people and they're relaxed and friendly. Our guide knew where to get the Walleye we came to get, too!
Rooms: Nice sized rooms with a small dresser with 4 drawers in the room with a queen sized bed. I’ll finish working details once i check out the other rooms.
Nearby activities: Fishing, paddle boats, kayaks, padfle hoards, swimming, a repurposed pontoon chained to the lake bottom to relax on and sunbathe, and fire pits. For rainy days there’s also books in the cabin, a dartboard, and board games in the laundry room.
Safety: 2 staff members working for the resort are also trained volunteers for the Federal Dam fire department. Trained in many types of emergency response ( first aid, CPR, burns, and wound care).

We have been going to Sugar Point Resort for more than twenty years. When the new owners took over, we were worried, but it's even better than ever. People are friendly and they take good care of their customers. With our retirement to another state, our trip was over twelve hundred miles one way, and yes, it was worth it. We'll be back. Thanks, Tina & Kevin Kufeldt

Sugar Point Resort is a bit off the beaten path, and I like that. The grounds are somewhat park-like. They have a great mix of primitive camping, camping with electric, RV full service (4) and cabins... some cabins are a little older and some newer. The staffers are very nice and helpful. The harbor can accommodate most fishing boats, but a tri-tune pontoon will likely struggle. They have bait and fish cleaning on site by the harbor...

There's no better place to be on Leech Lake! Sugar Point gives you the resort experience and fishing camp feel. There's a reason our group has been going for 35+ years and every year it gets better and better. Thank you Christine, Jamie, Tristan and Brian for an awesome experience year after year!

Great boss ?? helped me a lot throughout the years. Enjoy your stay she's one the few resorts in the Minnesota area that takes pets ?. FYI. ??Enjoy your stay!
Rooms: Rooms are very clean, she's remodeling the whole place it's becoming very beautiful over there you can see the hard work they put into the place ❤️
Nearby activities: There are two restaurants close by there's Jerry's bar and the bena cafe. Local store but also longville has many activities to enjoy. It's a beautiful area sometimes just being on the lake is enough. Bemidji also has a lot of fun things to do as well also a somewhat neighboring city. Best closest place to get groceries is superone in either deer River otherwise your paying an arm and a leg everywhere else.
Safety: Also the owner is medically knowledgeable very safe place and I enjoy when I can find time to be her employee it's been my favorite just to be able to work on the shore of the lake I grew up by. This year I got a science internship I wanted to clean but I couldn't get my schedule right in time.
