The Forest Lake YMCA is a very well taken care of facility that is kept clean and well-maintained. The staff are always friendly and super nice. The facilities are top notch and include a great gym, fitness center, and swimming pool area. The aquatics area features an indoor lap pool, a whirlpool and sauna, a kids' section with a water slide and lazy river, and an outdoor splash deck and splash pad. The gym has a good variety and quantity of equipment, including free weights and cardio machines, and a track. Amenities include male, female, and family locker rooms, with the family locker room offering individual shower rooms, and a free child care center. The YMCA offers free weekly group exercise classes that are fun, along with personal training and swim lessons. The personal training program can yield positive results, with guidance on exercise programs and nutrition. The daytime crowd is extremely casual, open, and fun to be around. However, evenings in the weight area can get busy with teenagers who sometimes loiter around equipment, leave weights out, and can be a distraction. Staff do keep a good eye on the area. While the monthly membership fee is a little steep, the facility provides great fitness and community-building programs. Overall, it is a clean, friendly, and family-friendly gym with excellent customer service.
Called to reserve a room for an event for a group from Forest Lake High School. Because I lived in Wyoming, they wanted a $112.00. If I lived in Forest Lake it would have been free. Seriously! Kind staff - great programming - welcoming lobby, great childcare options, classes, sports. Lots of options for everyone in the family. Only lost one star for the occasionally packed gym floor and wish there were more open swimming hours where the water slide was actually open for my older swimmers.

Very well taken care of YMCA. The staff are always friendly. The facility is kept clean. Lockers rooms are well maintained. Classes are fun!
