About Sherwood Forest Campground
Sherwood Forest Campground is a nice campground in a beautiful setting in Gilbert, MN. It is in a beautiful area overlooking a reclaimed ore mine, with a crystal clear lake over the hill for swimming, boating, diving, or fishing. The campground is clean with clean sites and clean air. It has great access to a state trail system, with an awesome OHV park next door and an excellent ATV trail right around the corner. A paved bicycle and walking trail, the Mesabi Trail, runs nearly through it. The campground runs a tight ship to keep everyone happy. The sites can be uneven, requiring leveling lumber, and the utility hookups can be tricky or oddly placed but are doable. Friendly hosts keep the facilities, including the bathrooms, spotless. Firewood is available for purchase and can be delivered.

Great location. Has great campsites, water is clear and even a waterside type of apparatus for the kiddos.

Great camp ground over looking a reclaimed ore mine. The water so clear, fun beach.
Noteworthy details: Great access to a state trail system for off road vehicles! Every year the Minnesota jeep club holds a rally there to benefit MS research. Crawl for the Cure.

A nice little city park, close to an ATV trail so there are a lot of ATVs moving around, but they are respectful and don't speed through the park.
