Buffalo River State Park is a beautiful little prairie state park about 30 minutes from Fargo. It is a wonderful oasis of protected prairie lands with a plethora of trees, grasses, wildflowers, and birds. The babbling and meandering Buffalo River provides lovely river access for paddling on a hot day. The park offers hiking trails through the prairie, though they are not extensive miles. The campground is quiet, well-maintained, and includes a group campsite, but some sites have low tree branches. Water spigots in the campground may not work, requiring a trip to the dump station. It is dog-friendly, but visitors must carry out waste. The park has a daily admission fee or an annual state parks pass, which is recommended to purchase online beforehand.
Nice hiking trails both along the river and into grasslands.

A fun place to go for a day hike. There is not very much elevation but their are plenty of trails to explore. Also provides good camp grounds if you are interested in camping here. Good place for beginner hikers to enjoy a nice day on the trails.
