“I can't wait to visit again. I love all the unique food items. Their staff is beyond friendly. They are friendly, helpful, and so much fun to interact with. My gal pals & I spend a lot of time laughing.”
“I love this gift shop!
As a person doesn't know how and what to shop around? They have a great selection of unique items, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly.”
“Walking into the General Store of Minnetonka is like stepping into your grandma’s attic—if grandma had impeccable taste, curated lighting, and a snack aisle that could cause spontaneous emotional healing. It’s a glorious mashup of gifts, gourmet treats, cozy clothes, and home décor that whispers, “You need this ceramic squirrel in a sombrero. Trust me.”
Every corner holds a delightful surprise. One minute you’re admiring candles that smell like “Autumn’s Flannel Pajamas,” and the next you’re clutching a mug with Prince’s face and wondering how your life led up to this exact moment. Memorabilia and nostalgic treasures abound—half museum, half shopping spree, and completely charming.
? Clothing - Comfort meets whimsy.
? Food - Delicious enough to make your diet give up in defeat.
?️ Home Décor - If your walls could talk, they'd ask for everything here.
Whether you're gift-hunting, memory-lane-strolling, or just there for the novelty socks, the General Store of Minnetonka makes you smile and then somehow convinces you to buy three things you didn’t know you couldn’t live without.”
“This place is awesome. As someone who has far too long used alcohol to help wind down at the end of evenings, I’m searching for a replacement of that ritual. They have so many great options for this. Erin the owner is super friendly and helpful and got me set up. I’ll be back!”
“This is an amazing store! They have amazing products, but they also go much further... If you are new to learning about rocks and gemstones, this is a great shop to go to. They are passionate about the products they sell and they love to teach you things if you are curious to learn! John offered to let me cut open my first agates ever on a slow day FOR FREE because I had been shopping there so much! This staff truly launched my LOVE for geology and lapidary. I haven't been in a while because I don't want to go broke ? I would say 80% of my massive crystal collection comes from this shop. They are ethical and often mine and polish their own product. They are sure their products are acquired appropriately, and not all shops will take enough pride to ensure this. I can trust that the money I spend is on products that are appropriately priced and ethically obtained.
I hope I can get to one of their lapidary classes or trips some day, I love John and his crew truly! I have sent a lot of people to this shop. Planning on stopping by soon to say hi to the friends!
Much love to you all!!!”
“I always feel very comfortable and welcome when I stop in to shop, the selection is amazing. They have anything you could want, I really appreciate how they have clean and well lit fitting rooms surrounded by mirrors so you can really check put your selections from all angles.”
“Bill delivers truly world-class communication. The process does take some time, but it’s absolutely worth it. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and shipping was incredibly fast.
If you’re looking for this level of service and quality, Bill and The Dream Shop are the place to go.”
“My Teacher had recommended me to come here if I was looking for a place to take classes over the summer. Me and my family had booked a few weeks in advance so we would have a spot on the date we decide to throw on the wheel. The class we took was 2 hours long. We got to make as much bowls as we wanted in that two hour frame, but we can only choose up to only 3 pieces to take home. We all had a fun time! The instructor was really nice and helpful when it came to needing more help on the wheel. If you’re looking for a fun beginners activity on throwing on the wheel, I would recommend this place. Their store is also so cute.”

“I love this place with all my heart ❤️ ?? I'm just sad because one of my favorite employees no longer works here ? she made my little ones laugh and she had so much knowledge about anime and Harry Potter ? she showed my daughter all of the hello kitty stuff and she bought so much lol I think her name was Tina but she was really sweet, they should have given her a raise for all of her hard work ?”
“Great customer service and friendly staff. I bought a sweater for my mom's birthday several months ahead of the actual event. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong size and needed an exchange. Even though I was WELL past their return/exchange window of 30 days (60 days around Christmas time), they still took the sweater back and mom was able to get the correct size. She loves her sweater! It's very warm and super soft!”
“I bought the perfect greeting cards here, and it took a lot of effort not to buy anything for myself here. One day...a perfect gift shop to find something cute or funny or both for yourself or someone else in a nice little neighborhood.”

“Oh, my new favorite gift shop. Let me tell you. I had to hold myself back from going overboard, but they have the cutest gifts.
The staff was helpful soon as I waled through the door.
The pics online does not serve as it would if you go in person. IT'S A MUST!
I spent an hour just browsing, and I covered every corner.
It's a YASSSS for me...oh and I I'll be back!”
“Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. “Located inside of Mall of America, on the first floor. This store is perfect for visiting tourists looking for a Minnesota souvenir. They have postcards, shotglasses, mugs, sweatshirts, and so much more.”
“It's a beautiful space with amazing art from a diverse spectrum of artist and artistry. You WILL find something you love. The only problem? Sticking to your budget! You'll want everything! ?”

“I grew up making Pisanki/Pysanky (Pisanki is the Polish spelling, Pysanky Ukrainian) and the last few years have gotten back into making them as an adult, getting more and more complicated/detailed with my pieces has been a joy and I couldn't do any of it without the amazing products that the Ukrainian Gift Shop provides. As the largest mail-order source of Pysanky and Pysanky supplies in the world you can find everything you need here, a rainbow assortment of egg dyes, pattern books, beeswax, kistka (hot wax pens), display stands and more! They have everything you need to get started or take your work up to the next level. I LOVE their dyes, too. I've tried others but theirs seems to give me the brightest, richest hues. I've done all my shopping online so I unfortunately can't comment on the shop in person but when I find myself in MN next I'll be sure to stop in in person to explore!”
“So many gifts ideas. I really enjoy looking at their fine jewelry. It could get a little pricey.
Location is find to spot in a busy shopping center. Plenty of parking.”
“Never have actually bought anything from here but I love the atmosphere and the people who work here. Such kind people who try to help you for anything and everything.”
“Ended up here by chance, twice. Both times we walked away with a feeling of peace and tranquility from our experiences here. We purchased timeless one of a kind pieces that hold great meaning to us. The owner is incredible. She's warm and compassionate about her pieces and everything is special. Come to look at beautiful jewelry and clothing and art but also to learn about the artists and cultures where they came from. We absolutely LOVE this place and it's perfect for a stop on your walk on a beautiful day!!!!”
“Mall of America really does have everything. Even a souvenir shop that you visited the state it's in. In fact, it's one of two directly across from each other on level 3. You can be as judicious as you want with your gifts.”
“This store is GREAT! Has so many options both male and female. And CECE??!! She’s amazing! You can ask her questions and she will genuinely give you great answers! Even on natural items that they have in store!”
“Cute but pricey little retro boutique. Cute stuff you normally wouldn't find in a brick and mortar. Staff was nice and store despite being crammed full was clean. Like a Spencer gifts but far less "Adult" stuff and incense.”
“I bought a Daytons sweatshirt at the Daytons Marketplace before Christmas and was told if need be I could return it to Shop in the City. I stupidly tried it on after I put on my makeup and it didn’t fit but I had stained it. I worked to remove stains which only helped a little. Went to Shop in the City to exchange it and plead my case. I offered to either pay for the damage or just return it for 1/2 of what it was worth. The very sweet clerks (sisters) called their manager who told them to replace it at full value. Very great customer service and I appreciate it a ton. Thanks so much.”
“I was looking for souvenirs that were made in Minnesota and this shop had a variety. It's a small space, so take a minute to look at things from different angles. I found a lot of great stuff that I missed on the first pass.”

“Amazing place with lots of interesting and differentiated items. This store is always my go to shop for finding great gift ideas for my wife and other friends/family.”
“Such a gem of a store. It's all hand made items by local artisans. Prices are great and the items are unique, so if you're searching for a hard to shop person, stop in.They do take credit cards now!! Hours and days are limited. Also, note it's tucked back a little so park near BLVD and walk over, you won't necessarily see an obvious sign from the street like a regular storefront.”
“If you visit Minneapolis, this amazing art museum has to be part of the trip. A wonderful collection of modern and contemporary art. Sculpture garden is very cool. Grab something to eat too!”
“I love a store with unique offerings and Patina really does have something for everyone. From cute kitchen goods to craft items to plushies, if you're looking for a gift this is a great place to shop.
They sell quality goods so I wouldn't call this place inexpensive, but not everything is expensive either.
I always find something unique, especially around the holidays.”
