This was our sixth time here.Brought some friends that had never been before. The cabins had some much needed improvements made. Things were getting a little run down.It was good to see reinvesting in the property. The staff in the bar and restaurant are fantasticAmber ran the restaurant and bar on her own on multiple occasions due to staff shortage.Lauren did the same on her own! Both ladies were beyond accommodating to our entire group and we can honestly say they are a major part of our wonderful weekend!Good staff that genuinely love what they do are hard to come by these days so we appreciated the high level of customer service we received even when things were busyFood was great, drinks greatThe hours at the lodge are abbreviated again due to staff shortages (so bring some beverages for the cabin)The skeleton staff they have are hustling!,It was such a hit with our friends now they are planning another trip!Thank you to the entire hard working team at Gunflint, but a special shout out to Amber & Lauren! You gals rock! Thank you!J, J & J❤️?❤️

If you are thinking about staying here and have never been here before, do yourself a favor and book it! The cabin was very clean, cozy, and had a rustic charm. The view over the lake was stunning from our indoor hot tub with the fireplace on. The resort lodge itself and restaurant, were 5 stars. The food was a treat you can only get up north. I live in the cities, and let me tell you I have never had such good food in my life. Besides that, the service here is something like you’d never experience in the cities. Everyone was so kind, respectful, and professional. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had an above and beyond experience. The snow was melting and we had planned a sleigh ride, the staff actually took snow from the lake, drove it a half mile down the road to patch up spots on the sleigh ride trail so we could still experience it. This was just one example of how the staff went above and beyond for our stay. I could literally go on and on with examples. The staff at Gunflint really are special as well as the charm of the resort. Thank you for making our stay so special. We are sure to come back again soon and hopefully try the zip lining! Until next time!! <3

The staff is friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the side salads fresh ingredients, and choice of delicious dressing. The walleye dinner was a good choice and recommended, along with wild rice & walleye chowder - always delicious. Smoked prime rib ( smoked here at Gunflint Lodge) was flavorful, but quite fatty and not as tender as preferred. I would not order again. Baked potato was nice, as was the asparagus. Smoked Old Fashion was very nice . We will return again and try other menu items.

Amazing trip, braving the winter and enjoying the beauty of Gunflint and the BWCA. Gunflint lodge and lake were beautiful, the staff wonderful, and the cabin was excellent. After hiking all day in the subzero temps, our cabin was warm and had no issues. We saw moose, a wolf, fox, deer, grouse, and more!

So my wife and I are currently here for our second wedding anniversary. It's after the holiday rush and we chose to come here for the seclusion and peaceful setting. The staff upon check in were professional and despite a few oversights were more than willing to make it all right. The food here was good the new york strip is pretty good for the price and the breakfast is amazing! The hot tub in our cabin along with the roses, chocolates, and wine were a fabulous touch that was much appreciated.

We've been to Gunflint Lodge several times and typically eat dinner at the lodge each night of our stay. The food is always very good, wine list is well selected, the staff are friendly and attentive, the view of the lake is fantastic. Always a great time.

Best meatloaf I've ever had at a restaurant... It's hard to beat grandmas meatloaf, but the GFL is as close as it gets! service was awesome, will happily go back!

Food and service was great... one suggestion would be to keep the fireplace stoked so that it feels like a cozy lodge... seems to me that the owners are forgetting about this important piece of the ambience...

We have been coming to this establishment for over 15 years! My family has turned a yearly thanksgiving trip here into tradition and have enjoyed each and every visit! If you are looking for a cappuccino maker, or 500 thread count sheets; stay in the twin city’s!! On the other hand if you are looking for something a little more authentic and outdoorsy this is the perfect place! We enjoy great staff service, food, trails, and the relaxing hot tub! All aspects of this resort provide a great stay for a family or simply connect you more to nature! 100% Recommend!Thank youFood & drinks: Many people seem to complain about the lack of service and prices, but a great restaurant has time between orders. If you want something fast this is not the place to go!!! The issues of inflation and staff problems have hit everyone hard lately so I am not sure what people expect when it takes more than 30 minutes for a meal…Noteworthy details: The Chef James made a very cheerful impact on our recent visit! He always has a smile and something kind or funny to say. If I were to put outstanding hospitality in a human form, undoubtedly James would be a perfect fit!Another great notable staff member was Elizebeth who always greeted us with a friendly smile and was able to manage a considerable amount of tables while being the only server!Thank you and the other staff members for a good experience at Justine’s!

I have booked stays at Gunflint about every Winter for the past 8 years. One thing that has not changed in those years are the friendliness they provide even when ownership was changed in 2016. My family and I always look forward to coming here. One year our auger broke and we were pretty down. They provided us with one of theirs so that we could continue to enjoy our stay there. This year they helped us out again, when they went out of their way to help us out of the icy drive from our cabin early in the morning so that we could try to beat the storm. On top of that one of our members left a wallet. Ann sent me an email, left me a voice-mail and texted me to notify of it. We have always enjoyed our stay and the welcoming environment they provide. We look forward to going there next year. Also great place for meteor showers and Northern light viewing.

Only 5 entrees to pick from and they were the same every day. And they were always cold to luke warm. Only 3 choices for breakfast. I think the plates must be kept in the refrigerator because the food was cold when it was served.

Had a great long weekend trip to the Gunflint Lodge and have already been recommending to all family and friends. The guided naturalist events were a ton of fun, they were super informative and allowed plenty of time for questions. We did a hike where the naturalist basically asked what we wanted to see and helped guide us to what we were looking for while giving good information the whole way.The cabin was perfect. It was clean, spacious and so relaxing. The food was amazing! The staff were also amazing and super helpful and friendly.

We had a girls trip - 5 nights- to the Boundary Waters November 2023. We stayed in a beautiful 4 bedroom cabin that fit the 8 of us perfectly. The area is beautiful and well kept with a little quaint lodge that over looks the water. On the 2nd to last night we had issues with the septic not draining. The toilets were burping and wouldn't drain, the sewage back flowed up into the showers. We attempted to call the lodge but that closes at 9pm and there is no way to get ahold of anyone after hours. We went the night without use of flushing toilets and sewage in the showers. At 9 am they finally sent someone in to look at them. During the 4 hours they were working on this, the sauna also started leaking water and there was flooding underneath. The management did not offer to relocate us to a different cabin or offer any type discount for the inconvenience we had. The solution they offered was to send a house keeper to clean the bathrooms. She cleaned all 4 full sized bathrooms in under 10 minutes. I maybe a germaphobe but there is no way that was properly disinfected and the sauna was not even touched.

The cabins weren't the cleanest found crumbs and food in the kitchen. The fridge leaks waterCouch had papers and crumbs under the cushions. Found old cough drops and hair pins in one of the rooms. The jacuzzi tub was very dirty. Otherwise the service was amazing. Friendly front desk workers. The zipline guys made the experience so much fun!!! Would recommend checking it out. The best part was the wedding spectacular view!!!Rooms: Rooms need better up keep.
