A liar, and a thief does not stand behind his warranty. Highly recommend going anywhere else, but here.

I bought a Hustler zero turn lawn mower from East Central Diesel in 2018. It worked fairly decent for the first year. The second year I had problems with the mower throwing a drive belt with only 60 hrs on the machine. I asked that they look over the machine because something wasn’t right. I loaded the machine, dropped it off for them to look at it. They replaced the belt and did NOT inspect why it would be tossing a belt. Used the machine two times after. Threw another belt. The same day my wife got the mail and found they had dropped a invoice in my mailbox (no stamp or envelope!) for over 100$ For the “Non warranty” repairs on My machine. I called them the next day and told them that this needs to be fixed properly. They agreed to pick up the machine. While it was loaded on the company’s trailer a tech and I started looking at the machine. I noticed cracked BRACKETS under the seat on my machine right away. I talked to the business owner and told him that this machine is defective, I paid over four thousand dollars for a zero turn and I want my money back or replace the machine. He said No. I asked for the territory sales manager and he reluctantly gave me his number. I explained everything to this territory manager with no real resolution to the defective machine other than agreeing with East Central Diesel that they will fix the machine under warranty, but that’s it. I explained to both individuals that this is not acceptable to be having these problems especially when I have close to 4 acres to mow. There was no sign of empathy for the frustration I was having. Time went by and the grass got longer. I finally got a call that my mower was repaired. I asked them to deliver it back to me. When it was delivered, the technician dropped it off in my driveway and left before I got home, so there was no communication about the situation. I went to put the machine in the garage and realized that something was vibrating Loud right away. It wasn’t there before. At this point I just let it go, and finished using the mower for the season. Fast forward to this spring while I’m doing maintenance on the machine I noticed why it was vibrating, so I addressed that as it was very loud. After fixing that myself, I went on to look over the rest of the mechanicals on the machine. I found loose adjusting bolts for the hydraulic controls. A linkage for the hydraulics has been rubbing on the frame for quite some time.

Before all this I was buying consumables for this machine just to be a loyal customer. However it’s very obvious that East Central Diesel doesn’t understand how their lack of customer service and product resolution skills have left me fuming. I also wonder how a business that works on diesels can’t get a lawn mower repaired correctly! Sincerely, One irritated customer... Read More
