on October 15th we drove 90 miles, one way, to Menards in International Falls where according to their web page they had the shower I wanted in stock. when we arrived we found the shower was in fact not in stock so we ordered it. we left our contact information with name phone number and e mail address and paid for the shower. 5 weeks later and no phone call regarding the shower I call only to be told it arrived 3 weeks ago but there was no contact information. Looking at our invoice receipt I see everything clearly. So we again make the 90 mile one way trip to pick up the shower and bring it home and install it. Then on December 8th we received a call from Menards at about 8am which went to voice mail about 45 minutes later we received a phone call from our bank explaining that Menards couldn't get in touch with us and that apparently they "accidentally " shredded our check. upon calling Menards back we were given 2 different stories about the check. 1 it was accidentally shredded and 2 the bank didn't honor it due to lack of funds which we had plenty of funds to cover it. we made arrangements to go up over the weekend to settle it. Only to have Menards call us again demanding payment. So having had already taken the night off from work we head the 90 miles one way to International Falls. Where we again are told 2 different stories about the check. 1. a manager accidentally emptied an entire bin of checks and 2 the bank confirmed there were not enough funds to cash the check so they never ran it. Which the bank denied. Again we had more than enough to pay for the shower. When my boyfriend went in to settle everything he was told that Corprate has already been called and they advised that we pay in full immediately or they were going to press charges. we had came up in good faith to pay as it was the threat was not warranted and as the check is being written they inform my boyfriend Corprate also stated they would not compensate for the extra drive. All this while hostility repeating they will call the cops and it "will not go good for you" The manager can clearly see another check is being written but he continues to threaten and berate my boyfriend. After he come out to the car and told me what happened I called the store asking for Corprate office phone number only to be told by Katlyn she would not give it to me, no she would not transfer me to a manager but she would transfer me to whatever department I needed help in (I did not identify myself or my concern to her)So it is Menards policy to not let a customer speak to anyone but it is also the customers fault that somewhere an employee lost checks or money. It is the customers responsibility to go out of their way to fix an instore issue and it is the right of a store manager to treat customers so deplorable. This letter is not only going on review but I will be sending a copy to Corprate (as I have their number now) as well as to the BBB in a formal complaint.

Great place to shop. Employees are always asking to see if you need help and are willing to go out of their way to help you find what you need.

Someone was extremely rude to my mother at this store would not recommend to shop here if you are anyone of color this women I'm sure racially profiled us and thought she stole after showing receipts she wanted to argue still

The store carries a limited stock of consumables compared to twin cities stores. For example auto supplies are weak as well as lawn and garden, in particular a lack of trees and shrubs. Inventories in the food section are poorly maintained. Often normal regular consumables are out of stock.Inconsistency results in lost loyalty. Hardware section seems to be well maintained. Pricing is fair but not always competitive with Walmart. Overall you are an asset to the Falls community..

This place has a LOT! There are so many options! Replacing kitchen counters? They have many options to choose from! Need new lighting? I have never seen a bigger section of lights than at Menards! Lawn care or decorating? They have soil, grass seeds, and many perfect little gnomes to add a special touch! They even have miscellaneous grocery options! Customer service is great, too! There are many employees ready to help!

Seriously whatever you’re looking for. They probably have it here. My god, they even have a little grocery section. People here are very helpful. If they can’t find something they’re going to go find another staff person to help them help you. Very friendly. The stores well laid out with signage everywhere.

No customer service except to grunt and point in a general direction from the store doors back towards the back. We were looking for paint. When asked if they had a certain item the employee shrugged and rolled his eyes before walking away. I refuse to set foot back in there.

I bought Windows to be shipped to Kenora. Good products but very poor customer service. I made a mistake ordering the correct window casing depth. I then spoke to them on multiple occasions and we came up with a solution to simply order the extension jambs and to fix the windows myself. From the employee to the manager, I kept receiving reassurances that my file would be dealt with but no one ever did.

It can be a good store to go to but unfortunately up here in international Falls Minnesota it is a small town and as soon as they decide they don't like you or they assume you stole something you're on their s**t list. Which means anything you may or may not have done is irrelevant!

Living in Fort Frances,Ontario.We just have manard to buy home improvements stuff.I place special order worth over x amount and paid us taxes .They did not inform me that your order is ready for pickup where as they took my number and promised will inform you okkkk but they did not bad customer service.i have to call after 1 month I was thinking may be shortage of materials but no no....When I was there for pickup I bought 4k more stuff I asked a favor since I am buy lots of lumbar can you deliver all this together (previous order and this one).There answer was yes but when I asked now since it's all gonna be delivery,could I have my state taxes I paid on my first order which is over $196.00 in US dollars.There point blank answer is no we can't I explain if you return all my first receipt and I will buy with an option of delivery I could save me not paying US state taxes. But his answer was sorry .I can not help really ? ? ? ?Could anyone help....What a wonderful customer service ? ? ? ?

People go to menards in I-Falls because there is no where else to go. Great selection, unfriendly service. I always get the feeling they help you because it's their job, not because they want to help and this is only after you hunt someone down. The overall friendliness of I-Falls is not in this store.
