The old lady with the scraggly black hair was checking out my items and told me to hold on and took a personal phone call about putting her mother on her taxes! EXTREMELY unprofessional. And then proceeded to blame her dead father for the tax mix up. I am just trying to buy my cats birthday presents put the toys in the bag and let me go. Also she REEKED of cigarette smoke. This WAS my favorite location not anymore. Petsmart be smarter about who you hire!!!

Arrived to this location about about 20-25 minutes before closing knowing Exactly what we wanted but Ashely who came to assist minutes after we asked for help refused to sale a live animal that close to their closing time. We quickly pointed out the animal which we had seen/handled the day before, all she needed to do was place in container while I filled out very little personal info.
Such an easy prompt transaction since we didn’t need information, we didn’t need any supplies or even food. Because of how fast I knew it would be I pretty much begged her to let us purchase it and explained to her that we drove almost 30 minutes from Savage and she simply wouldn’t make eye contact anymore and said No! again and again.
As upset as I was I was still hopeful since there was time plus employees around who weren’t busy so I stayed calm and continued to beg hoping I’d change her mind letting her know we’d wait as long as needed and that I’d be quick with paperwork as it broke my heart to see my girl with teary eyes but she did not care.
When she gave a firm No with almost a smirk on her face I then asked if we could ask management to make an exception only to unfortunately find out that it was herself. She claimed it was policy and to consider others time.
I totally understand policies, but it could and has been done before and it sucks that although she spoke of consideration, she couldn’t care less if my work schedule didn’t permit for me to be there not even 10min sooner, my long drive, why we chose that specific store passing numerous other pet stores, much less my girls 💔.
We were so excited having everything set up for it and arriving to store with sufficient time and Ashley ruined it for us.
I have never been to any pet store with a personnel so content in keeping an animal from finding a home. Saddening.

I recently visited PetSmart for a grooming appointment for my dog, and unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. Upon arriving to check in, I encountered an employee who was visibly overwhelmed and, frankly, quite rude. While I understand that working long hours can be stressful, I am still a paying customer, and I expected a basic level of professionalism.
When I provided my dog’s information, the system flagged his rabies shot as expired. I explained that he has two accounts—one under my name and another under his other parent’s name at a different location. The employee smirked while repeating his dad’s name, which came off as unprofessional. Then, after checking the second account, she claimed there was no updated information there either. I began to tell her that I had the updated records on my phone, but before I could even finish my sentence, she cut me off with a nasty attitude, saying, “Well, look it up, and then I can put it in.”
Her tone was completely unnecessary, and when I looked at her, she turned to another customer, sarcastically apologizing to them, as if I was the problem. She then walked away, grabbed a broom, and started sweeping, completely dismissing me and my dog.
At that point, I decided to leave. I did speak with a manager, but I did not feel like my concerns were properly addressed. In the end, I walked out without my dog getting groomed, despite having a scheduled appointment and needing the service.
This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. If this is how customers are treated, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I’ve taken my pup to this location for grooming for years now and never had a bad cut until now. I don’t know if the groomer he had is new, I’ve never seen her name in the options for booking before so maybe but she asked how I wanted my dog cut and I specified the usual cut but wanted the face and eye area very short. Unfortunately I wasn’t the one who picked him up and was out of town for a few days before I saw him. His hair cut looked 3 weeks old just days after. His face is so long, hair covering his eyes, and there are so many random spots throughout his body that are significantly longer. I would not recommend Racheal. These haircuts are too expensive for it to look like this. Very disappointing! I don’t know if I will return.

Made an appointment for 2/10/2025 at lakeville location at 10am for puppy bath and trim. We got there on time and they decided not to take us and canceled the appointment!

I have come in here twice... Both times dead fish... Dead Bettas .... And dead fish in the tanks... This store just doesn't seem to take great care of their aquatics and the people who work here don't seem to happy to be here .. makes me sad to see dirty fish tanks and Bettas in dirty water in tiny cups.. this is my last time to this store... Other locations take better care of their animals and aquatics.. bummer for Lakeville

I did not have a good experience here. At checkout, the cashier simply couldn’t hear my phone number correctly and gets huffy that she misheard and input it incorrectly. She aggressively tries again at the keyboard…She turns to my husband and starts mocking me by pretending to whisper saying she’s me, when she could’ve just asked me to repeat it. I said enough, stop being rude and I’m ready to leave. She says we were the ones roaming the store long enough, but now we’re ready to leave….ummm we’re shopping your store and providing you business to keep you employed! Absolutely rude and I won’t shop there again.

The store itself is fine but I’m not kidding every time I shop at this location there’s a woman at the cash register telling me about the 2 babies she miscarried and how much she hates her daughter in law. Good place for cat food, bad place to hear about strangers unsettling business. I’d recommend just going to the location in Burnsville.

Paid for extra grooming services which never were done. My dog has his duclaw digging into his paw pad and I asked them specifically to fix that they said sure and after getting my dog and looking they didn’t do it. Or any of the things I requested and paid for.

Pet smart is known for treating their animals horribly - that's enough for a 1 star review. But the staff at this place are just as bad. I asked one of the cashiers if there was a trash can anywhere and she (very rudely) said "oh, so now we are supposed to pick up your garbage for you too? I have plenty of garbage in my car too.. idk I'd feel stupid". All I had was an empty cup from Freddy's... I don't know why me asking where to find a garbage can made her so mad but honestly just terrible.

Not sure who runs the aquatics area, but being aggressive with the nets to catch fish is horrible. I was sent home with an Oscar that was hurt by the employee and the net. He has head trauma, recognizable by the cloudy eyes that showed up within an hour of purchasing him. The employee was very rough with the net- myself and another customer had witnessed it and discussed our digust with the company.
Whoever I spoke too was unempathetic and expected me to bring the dying fish back for another. I would feel wrong placing him back in such crap care. I will continue to do my best to treat him in an isolation tank. However I will never purchase from this store again. As a hobbyist, I'm disgusted by the lack of care shown to these animals. Do better.

I have been to this PetSmart many different times with my dog, this particular time we went just to get her nails clipped and within 5 minutes they said they couldn't do it even though I've been bringing my dog to this PetSmart for years since I've had her since she's a puppy through their grooming services. She is 3 years old now and within 5 minutes they called over the intercom saying that they could not clip her nails which was shocking to me because they have all of her visits on file and they just couldn't do it. So maybe it was just a one-time occurrence that this would happen. I do plan on bringing my dog back. Other than that it's a great place. The groomers are all pretty good. The story is always clean. People are helpful. I guess I was just there on the wrong day
