Sylvan Park in Lanesboro MN is nicely wooded and landscaped. It features a small lake, clean restrooms, a bandstand, playground, and picnic pavilion. There is also a campground with space for 20 RVs or tents. Electricity (20 & 30 amp) is provided. Camping costs $40 a night. The location is within walking distance of downtown. The public library is also in the park, and appears to provide public showers. To the south of the park is the K-12 school building, and tennis courts. Also within walking distance is the Root River Scenic Bike trail.

A really great city park with camping, shelters, bathrooms and playground and much more. Right next to the school and library you have many amenities in this small area. Plus great views of the bluffs and historic Lanesboro while being right in the city.

Great camping inside the city of Lanesboro! 2 trout ponds with a family of Eagles overhead. Better. Than the Riverview Park which only has a couple of outhouses and few few trees!

Just stopped for a quick stretch and view of waterfall; didn't see a campground where I stopped.

Sylvan is a prime location just a few blocks from downtown Lanesboro. Perfect for a weekend getaway on the Root River bike trail. The campground itself is tired looking but functional. Sites are tight and your neighbors are just a few feet away.

This is my favorite city campground and Lanesboro is a great city to visit. Easy access to the Root River Trail and the pond is stocked with trout.

This is a nice park just a couple blocks from the business district. The sites are mostly grassy and he price is good at $30/night for electric and water. If you're interested get there early in the day on a Sun or Mon to be sure to get a space. It's a small campground and they don't take reservations! The one star deduct is because some of the showers didn't have hot water. BTW It costs 4 quarters to find out if a shower gets hot.

Lanesboro is a great town, but I cannot recommend camping at the town campground, unless you're a heavy drinker and want to be around other heavy drinkers. Both nights we camped there, there was a lot of noise from drunks in the middle of the night. Also, many of the tent sites around the pond are not flat; they slope towards the pond. Didn't bother me much, but some in our group had trouble sliding down the incline during the night.

Nice park with many activities happening there throughout the summer. My grandkids love the play area. Waterfalls across the street is very pretty. There is a nice pond, many picnic shelters, gazebo and a small library right next to it. There is a good sized parking lot.
