My dad arrived at Gracewood in December of 2021 after a hospitalization and brief stay at another facility. He arrived on a stretcher, distressed about his situation.. He was 97 and had been independent and mobile until he entered the hospital. I won’t kid you, it wasn’t always easy. Dad had to figure out how to navigate life dependent upon other people for his every need. Staff had to figure out his particular quirks. I had to trust that others would take care of the father I had taken care of for 22 years since the death of my mother. Soon everyone found their rhythm and Dad began to thrive. We got to know staff and residents. Staff and residents got to know us. I looked forward to my daily visits not only to see Dad, but to see all of them. What amazing people! What hearts they have! I have to admit, I have my favorites but it doesn’t take much to see the goodness in each one. At 99, Dad has finally completed his journey through this life to the next. Gracewood helped us through. In appreciation,Kris R. and the family of Joe G.

The entire experience from search to admission and subsequent care has been excellent with White Pine and Gracewood in Lino Lakes.A window in Lino Lakes opened and within 45 days, Lauren and Taylor patiently helped me navigate the admission process, complicated by my mom residing in Indiana. After an 11 hour transport my mom was thrust to a new apartment, disoriented, and wanting to “go home”. Jodi patiently settled down my mom in a remarkable fashion, giving me some peace. Every day since has been better as my mom has continued to acclimate. All the staff members I have worked with and observed have been beyond awesome, smiling, and patient even with all the multiple fires coming at them at once. The staff remembers details about my mom and double checks things they observed. The nursing staff is attentive and developed a detailed care plan. The activities director personalizes ways to entice involvement, even as my mom resists. Thank you.

We recently moved our mother to Gracewood from another memory care facility in which she was not receiving good care and not participating in activities. We were very concerned about her transition since this was the 3rd facility in apx 5 years and they were difficult due to her dimentia..This transition was different - she walked in for the first time and said “This is beautiful”She was met with happy faces and activity around her. The activity director was successful getting her to participate in some group activities and was thoughtful enough to email photos of her playing Bingo and balloon volleyball. Mom was smiling and genuinely happy for the first time in a long time. Unfortunately mom passed away suddenly only 2 weeks after moving in. The staff was quick to respond and keep family informed, and compassionate. We know mom died with people caring for her with dignity, in a clean living environment and so wish she could have enjoyed it longerThank you to all Gracewood staff who helped to make our mothers last days happySally and Di, daughters of Wilma

Gracewood is filled with caring staff and a sense of wellbeing for the clients. It is clean and they decorate for the holidays. They go the extra mile to make it feel like home for the clients who live there. They also take care to keep the clients healthy and safe.
