I have been an avid cyclist for about 10 years but recently experienced some sensitive chafing issues. I made an appointment for a bike fit and was worried that the nature of the issue would make it awkward to discuss.
Not so at all. Danny was incredibly matter of fact and professional and spent the hour making adjustments to be sure that I would be comfortable going forward.
I felt heard which does not always happen as a woman in a bike shop.
It was a great experience and I will recommend Gear West and specifically Danny's bike fit to my cycling friends.

I came through the store and just bought sunglasses, but I ended up walking around just to look at their huge selection of gear -- the people there are friendly and highly qualified/knowledgeable, and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Very friendly and informative staff. They discussed options with me on what could be done with my bike and got it done when they said they would. They also researched lower priced rims for me to keep the cost down and get my bike back to me sooner.

Mixed service. Gear West truly has excellent selection, and they are helpful until you put the money in their hands. Once you do - even if it's a couple thousand $ - you're done. Do not expect customer service, advice, or a courtesy reply in passing.

Gear West is hands down the best triathlon store in a multi-state area - knowledgeable staff, community-building local races and activities, and high-quality products. I’ve enjoyed going there for over 10 years now.

Simply asked if they did rentals and the person snapped at me saying yes, we do rentals of course but I’m busy!! You should have booked online. I would have never known that and it was a simple yes or no question. He was like we are probably booked and you’re not going to get anything. Exceptionally rude. He could have said “Yes, I apologize but I am working with someone else currently if you would like to wait a few minutes so I can check availability I would be happy to help.” Except that’s not how it went and everyone in the shop was clearly uncomfortable. They treat you like trash here. Go elsewhere.

We had a terrific experience renting bikes for a family get together weekend. The bike shop staff and store owner all helped us put together a fun filled activity. The staff was also very helpful in working hard to reschedule due to poor weather (story of this summer so far). I was happy to discover that the bike store is aimed now more at regular sods like me and not just triathlon athletes. All in all excellent.

Best place to get XC and Downhill stuff in the metro. Plus they have great bikes and a wonderful selection of running gear. No matter what endurance sport you are into, Gear West
has you covered.
