“The current post office in Long Prairie was constructed in 1936, and has had some interior alterations throughout the years, but remains largely unchanged as viewed from the outside. The east lobby wall of the post office boasts a fresco painted by Sister Lucia Wiley titled “Indians Gathering Wild Rice”’ commissioned by the Works Progress Administration in 1939.”
