We stayed in one of the “base camp” cabins for 3 nights and for the most part really loved our stay! It was the perfect sized cabin for 2 adults and our dog! We could see the lake from our room which was nice and really appreciated the pet friendliness and welcome bag! I will say though that if you want a quiet sleep I would choose one of the other cabin options because the base camp units are all connected and share walls which we didn’t realize, maybe we missed that in the pictures when booking. That just meant that during our first night we didn’t sleep much due to the neighbor on one side playing very loud music later into the night and on the other side 2 individuals arguing outside so loudly that we could unfortunately hear every word of their hour long conversation. The only other thing we mentioned to the staff upon checkout was that our door had a lot of difficulty closing unless basically slamming it shut while pulling it closed - probably not the best thing for our neighbors to have to listen to too.We also really loved the cascade lodge restaurant and appreciated the discount when eating there, very great food and hotel/restaurant staff were awesome! We would definitely consider staying here again!

We loved our stay at Cascade Lodge! We always look to stay somewhere with a wood fireplace, big whirlpool tub, and totally separate cabins. Only downside was that it wasn't right on the water, but it was just across the road, so still not bad. Would definitely stay here again. The food at the restaurant is super good, but we also cooked a fair share in the cabin and we had most of the kitchen supplies we needed and just winged it for what we were missing and it worked out just fine. Lots of games and puzzles to play, and nearby a lot of parks and attractions to visit!

Rooms: Cozy rooms with a modern, Scandinavian vibe. Felt really updated yet rustic.Nearby activities: Super close to excellent skiing and the cute town of Grand Marais!Food & drinks: Restaurant is one of my faves. The wait staff makes you feel so at home, the food is everything you’d want from a stepped up north shore bar and grill, and the live music is an added weekend touch.

We've stayed at Cascade Lodge a few times in the last couple of years, and we love it. Top-most is the staff. Everyone--from the front desk, to the restaurant, to maintenance, to house cleaning--every single employee (and the owner) we've met has been genuinely kind, professional, helpful, and friendly. In addition, ultimately this is a place to sleep, and the beds and linens are superb. The restaurant is one of the best on the North Shore including an inventive menu and clever cocktails and well-poured Guinness in the bar. Overall, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone at Cascade.Nearby activities: Remarkable array of hiking and skiing trails directly from the lodge. Only 10-15 minutes from Lutsen Mountain or Grand Marais.

Visited here with a party of 9 recently during our visit to Lutsen, MN. We were greeted by the staff right upon coming in and were notified that we are supposed to order our food at the front and not as we are sitting at our table, which I appreciated as we probably would have sat around for a while not knowing this. They have a large variety of food to choose from which I highly recommend their local seafood dishes such as the Fish and Chips and the Wall Eye. Well worth it for the price and I would like to commend the staff and chefs on a job well done! Please be mindful there is an extra charge here for using the VISA which in my experience is very common across all locations in the Lutsen, MN area. I would definitely recommend visitors to check out this restaurant over any other in the area because it outperforms them in taste, delivery, and cleanliness.

Great service and so many wonderful menu options. Everything is fresh and looks beautiful on the plate. Try the grain bowls with sweet potatoes and quinoa or the avocado toast for a surprising tasty twist.

Came up for our couples New Years trip - didn't make it to Lutsen for skiing or boarding. The rooms in the Creek Chalet was decently sized, lighting could be a tad bit brighter. As we were leaving - I was told we are the last group to get the Creek Chalet before they remodel. Looking forward to checking the place out later in the year.Staff was pleasant to work with. Would come back again!

This vacation spot used to be wonderful, but under the new ownership, the cabins seem to be run down and uncomfortable. The adjoining restaurant has new staff, and the food preparation is now far from acceptable. I no longer recommend this business.

Food was good! There are two reasons for me reducing stars. Forced 20% Gratuity since we were technically a party of 8 even though we all ordered separate. I would understand this if they actually served us, but we had to put our own tables together, and it's already required that you walk up and order so being forced to tip that high is pretty crazy. The second thing is the insane 3.9% Card processing fee. I run a business and know that it does not cost that much, so they're using that to make extra money. Besides that the food and atmosphere was nice and it overall was an enjoyable experience.

A charming, cozy spot to stay on the North Shore. Centrally located close to hiking trails, Lutsen Mountains, and Grand Marais. Beautifully decorate rooms and charming community spaces. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful during our stay.We enjoyed playing games by the fire, having our coffee lakeside, and walking their trails.Right next door is their restaurant that offers delicious food from burgers to flatbreads. We were impressed by their vegetarian options! You’re also a short drive from local restaurants in Lutsen or Grand Marais.Highly recommend this spot for a couple or a family looking for a relaxing weekend getaway. Year-round this would be a wonderful spot to stay!

Food was great, service outstanding, wait was worth it. Loved the lake view. Host estimated the wait time, spot on and done on paper, no technology, interesting.

Had the fish and chips. They knocked it out of the park. Great, crispy, and flavorful fish. Service was quick. You order at the front and they bring food out to you. Cozy resort feel.
