Cascade River State Park is a beautiful area with scenic waterfalls, hiking trails, and views of Lake Superior. Many visitors enjoy the short walk to the Cascades and the nearby trails, which can be challenging and muddy in spring. The park offers nice restrooms and showers, though signs for the shower and toilet areas are lacking. Campsites are close together and near the highway, so noise can be a concern. The park is well-located for exploring nearby areas like Grand Marais. Overall, it’s a good spot for a short visit or a quick overnight stay, with plenty of natural beauty to enjoy.
Over all experience is good except they didn’t have the proper sign boards for shower area and flush toilets.
Toilets: No proper signs for shower and flush toilets area

Campground was just OK. Fairly close to hwy61 so you get noise. Sites are a little more packed in then most MN state parks. Only about A 7-10min walk to see the Cascades from most campsites. Only about a 10min walk to Lake Superior with great views. Good spot for 1 night.

A rugged and challenging hike with scenic outlooks. When I went in late spring, many of the trails were flooded and were very muddy.
