There are no numbers anymore identifying which unit is which there is broken glass in front of my unit and in my unit that was never my fault. My door is breaking and not breaking and breaking, and the track needs to be fixed. The siding of the building is falling off in the wind. This isn’t a good place to store anything unless you need somewhere shady to store hot items cause it’s not like it’s gonna be policed over here.

This place has no customer service skills. I put a deposit down on a storage unit over the phone a month ago, everything was fine. The day I’m supposed to move stuff in no answer and they gave me 3 different addresses. I just want my deposit back! There voice mail box has been full for weeks and I still can’t get contact with this company. SPARE YOUR TIME and do not do business with this company.

I rented a self storage unit at ‘store my stuff southern mn’ in Mankato between January and February. The unit was broken into and robbed. The company did not respond back to me for five days after i found it. It seemed abandoned. There was a camera on the building. But it turns out it was not connected to the internet, so it's not working. There was also no power to the unit while it was listed to have power. The place was advertised to be safe and secure. But they didn't do anything about being robbed. The part where they didnt even respond for days seems like they dont care. After hearing from company, there was no resolution. I was offered another storage unit. Never would I return to a place that I was robbed from. Plus what do I have to storage when all my belongings were stolen. It seems there are a number of units broken into. There is no monitoring of the grounds. I didn't visit my unit regularly and have no Idea how long it was left open with the lock cut and basically garbage thrown around in. This picture is how I found my unit. Thousands of dollars in property lost.

There is nothing good to say about this place, the lower price is a sham to get you to pay rent even though your items will knowingly be damaged. We rented a unit from October 2022-March 2023 and we incurred several thousand dollars of damages to our items. The door of the unit was frozen shut throughout the winter and the owner would not help to get it open. When we attempted to move our items out of the unit in March, the door was completely frozen shut and it took over 4 hours to get it open as it was frozen to the floor and all along the tracks. Once the door was open, we found that our items had sustained water damage and that a number of our items were frozen to the floor. A number of items had to be thrown away and other items (tv stands, work desks and mattresses) were damaged as we peeled them away from the ice.The owner initially answered our calls and said he would look into it, but then he stopped answering our calls. Over 20 attempts were made by phone & text message and the owner screened them all. We called from a different number and he answered. In that phone conversation that took place in April, he openly admitted that he was dealing with this problem with a number of units. He further stated that he routinely gets damaged items as a result of rodents, pests, fires, etc., but that water damage was something new. He promised to credit back our rent to help make up for some of our damages. Since that promise, we have attempted to reach him for over a month and he is once again screening our calls. We are currently considering our next step forward to recoup our losses. For those that are considering renting from here, I couldn't more strongly advise paying a few extra dollars and going anywhere but here.

We had damaged items in our unit and the owner has been refusing to get back to us. He had promised credits to help with the thousands of dollars of damage, but he has routinely screened our calls.

This place seems to be the best priced place in and around Mankato. I have noticed multiple units are empty, but the availability options on their website says there's a "waiting list" or there's only 1 unit listed "available to rent" online. I wonder if they need to update their website?

Great place for any storage needs. Owners are super nice guys and seem to always be available for help or questions! Different sized units, I think all of them have electricity/unit lighting, located off victory its easy and quick to get to and also actually relatively private (tucked back off the road slightly so u don’t hafta b embarrassed about people seeing all of ur junk lol). Be on the lookout for a few pot holes when u first pull in tho- they’re doozies

We rented in Aug of 2014. The management initially was great. Very accommodating and helpful. But as things progressed we ran into many problems. - All said and done about $1000 worth of our stored property was STOLEN from the unit with no signs of forced entry. To the owner's credit he replaced the lock quickly, per our request, but offered no other support. - There was a large counter top in our unit and it took several days to get it removed. As well, we had to sweep the entire floor of our 20x40 unit before it was clean enough to be used. - The manager suggested we place our belongs on pallets due to the frequent water that entered the units. So be wary if you have your items on the ground. - They have no secondary way to lock the unit so you cannot lock it with your own. He also has a sign displayed indicating video surveillance, but there is no such security. I highly recommend using other means of storage (We had good luck with Gag's Mini Storage) to avoid hours of headache and hundreds of dollars of missing property.
