Kay at the Maple Grove JoAnne’s cutting counter is the rudest person I have ever known that has been employed at any JoAnn’s location that I have been at. She stands around and in front of a long customer line yells at other employees and embarrasses them in front of other coworkers and many customers for no reason while she is just standing there doing nothing while her coworkers are helping customers already. It makes no sense! Very rude customer service! I feel sorry for her coworkers and Kay should not be working in the public eye EVER!

Less than desirable visit. Only one person was cutting fabric and only one cashier. I left my cart and left. Very disappointed.

This used to be my go to store for everything, but in the last two months or so it’s gone insanely downhill. Went in for some bracelet string, misc items for my boyfriends’s Valentine’s gift, and a handful of things I’d need for fairy wings, and I barely got anything on my list. Somehow, they don’t have spray adhesive. In a CRAFT store. I’m giving it 3 stars because I’ve been here for years, and the staff is always super kind to me. It’s typically well organized and stocked. I understand that they’re frequently understaffed and it’s still that post-holiday chaos recovery period, but like a lot of the other recent reviews have said, it’s ridiculous in its current state.

Y'all, it's bad.
Unstocked, boxes everywhere, lights burnt out, floors caked in dust and trash.

Store is very dark and dirty. Shelves are empty, it’s a huge store that could be very nice. Are they going to close this one?

My personal experience with Joannes Fabrics at the Maple Grove location has been a very depressing one! This Joannes takes all the enjoyment of shopping away and I never want to return!!
If I did not know I was in Maple Grove, Minnesota…… I honestly would believe I were in a poor 3rd world country !!!!
I am NOT exaggerating one bit!
Filthy !!! Very poor lighting!!
The shelves looking like there was a sudden mob and took it all the merchandise!!!
Very hard to find the material I was hoping to find, due to I can’t see without lighting … plus not located where it should be!!
I had to go ask the ‘cutting lady’ to help me locate what I’m looking for which I just got a swatch from the day before!
She could not locate it either!!!
So I had to go back home 1/2 hour away to get my receipt to get the item number for it….. called her and gave the number. It took her a 1/2 hour to locate it!!! I asked if she found it where it was supposed to be? She replied no!
I ask the employees why this place is getting worse and worse each time I unfortunately need to go there for fabric?
They are told it’s the management … and they have been told this for 1-2 years !
The employees offer to remove new inventory from unpacked boxes and place on shelves so that a customer can find what they are looking for —- and I know if it were ALL on the shelves I most likely would buy much more than what I originally went into the store for to begin with!!!
But! Management says “NO!”
I find this Joannes Maple Grove is a so called disgusting store!
It’s a warehouse!!!!! Dig for yourself through boxes in hopes to find what you need!!
It’s much worse than shopping at SR Harris fabrics near by!!!
I will go way out of my way the next time I need fabric to avoid this location like the plague!

Is this location going out of business? If not, it definitely looks like it. I only go here as a last resort and it’s a pretty unpleasant experience. The floors are so unbelievably disgusting, I don’t think this place has been cleaned in months. The shelves are a complete mess IF there are even any items left on them. Seriously, most of the shelves are just 3/4 empty. This was even during the summer, way before the holidays. There are literal piles and piles of unopened boxes in the back/side of the store full of items that need to be restocked. Clearly they do not have enough employees which is unfortunate. Corporate needs to step in and help this store.

It has come to the point that I only patron JoAnn Fabrics when it is the utmost last resort. Orders placed online often do not get fulfilled because "Items are out of stock". The times I have wondered into the store in the past 6 months, the store is physically dirty, low lit, shelves are in disarray, many boxes of merchandise sitting on the sales floor and not put away, no one wants to help (if you can find someone).
I know they are going through some hard times, but maybe they need to close a few more stores and consolidate merchandise and employees to get at least 1 fully functional store in a region.
But like most retail environments these days, basic customer service, and stocked shelves are well above anyone's pay grade. Makes me sad to see such resources get taken away, especially in an area that doesn't have a huge sewing industry.
I suppose it might finally be time to write JoAnn Fabrics off and not give them any more money. They don't seem to be doing anything productive with it anyways.

It's not an exaggeration to say this store looks like a third world country. Lights are dim and burned out. Floors haven't been cleaned in weeks. Merchandise is a mess. Stacks of unopened boxes all over the store. Employees can't find items listed as in stock. I can't imagine the money they're losing with the store in this condition during the holidays. Any adults still working here?

I went to this location today to pick up a few things. The woman at the cutting counter needed a break or attitude adjustment. So rude and condescending.

The Good: Great variety of fabrics and good coupons in the app.
The Bad: Felt like I walked into a store from 1970 with poor lighting and stuff laying around everywhere. Peg and Kay were the worst. Very rude. I was sent here to get material from another store that said they were out and said this location had seven yards. Both ladies were rude to me and told me they didn't have any in stock and to find something else that was similar color for my project. I asked to speak to a manager who promptly found the products in the receiving area
