Wildly incompetent and unprofessional staff especially for a medical establishment. Here's how my hour and a half visit for a simple follow-up appointment went. It's long, but thats how i felt too...
10:57 - arrived for 11:00 appointment. I am the only one in the store and there are 3 employees. They have me wait while they chat
11:07 - The manager brings me back to test my contact trials, she's on the phone with a tech number trying to fix some machine while multitasking me through the tests.
11:14 - I go back to wait for the virtual doctor to be available to review the results of the tests
11:40 - the virtual doc finally connects and thinks I'm there for an eye exam, quickly realizes I'm not and disconnects. The staff member with me asks me why the doc disconnected. We have to wait for another virtual doctor to connect
11:47 - the correct virtual doctor comes on, tells me everything's good and tells the staff member to draw up my order for my new contacts. I go back to the front to wait
11:50 - there is one other customer in front of me ordering glasses. The manager has left to help another store and a new employee has arrived to help this store. Two other customers come in behind me.
12:05 - it took 15 minutes for the girl at the desk to figure out how to order the customer's glasses on her own before finally getting to me.
12:10 - the other two customers are still waiting behind me. The girl at the desk asks one of the other two employees to help them because those two had been sitting in the back doing nothing this whole time. The desk girl needs to call the now-absent manager to walk her through the entire process of ordering my contacts on speaker phone. The other employee tries to help one of the other customers replace a broken frame under warranty which he does not know how to do. The two of them are switching off talking to Lea trying to help myself and the other customer.
12:30 - they finally figure out how to complete my order. Should have been a 15 minute appointment. I'm not sure how long the other customers were stuck there.
Someone in charge at Visionworks needs to visit this store for 10 minutes, and someone will be fired. This was my third time here, and I made sure to note the times this time because every time here has been a complete disaster. The manager is completely unprofessional and cannot manage a team. The employees there may be fine with actual competent management.

Pleasant service. Quiet and calm environment. Clean and tidy store. Competent and helpful staff.
I took off one star that’s probably not something they can actually control, but it bugged me a lot.
Most (75%+) of the women’s glasses didn’t have adjustable nose pieces—just the plain plastic. The higher-end options were worse than the lower-priced ones!
There wasn’t enough variety of frames to pick from that had adjustable nose pieces and a large lens size for bifocals. There were only two frames that would work for me that I didn’t hate. One was super boring, so I went with the non- boring option.
It’s probably just a current fad that I’m not into. I should have brought in old frames I DO like. (Hindsight!!)
Edit: I just had an eye exam with them to fix another doctor’s prescription that they filled for me. The manager was again super awesome! I’m leaving this at four stars because the exam took more time than necessary due to trainees (2-3 of them) and several equipment issues. The virtual doctor exam was a cool idea that I’d never experienced before. They handled my two different pairs of bifocals really well! I can’t wait to get them!

This is my second appointment I made here at this vision work. The first time they called me and cancelled my appointment the same day, before my appointment which was fine. I rescheduled for the next Saturday which is today. I get here on time and the Dr is frazzled and say she may have to reschedule mind you I’m on time. It because they are running behind but it’s only me and 1 other person as patients in the entire office besides 2 staff members. Thanks because now I will take my business elsewhere. This is not good business.

I've never encountered a business that seems to deliberately hire incompetent personnel. From the "doc" all the way to the front desk. For the amount that was spent out of pocket on two pairs of quality glasses, I expected, well..quality, correct prescription or fixing the screw ups. Not sure if this is symptomatic to this particular location but I have no desire to try another Visionworks. Never again!

Arrived for an appointment was told computers were down so eye exam couldn't be done. Rescheduled for a Saturday appointment. Arrived and found a note saying would be closed on Saturday reopen on Sunday. I received no phone call or email. Infact I received an appointmentment reminder email saying see you soon. I am disappointed. Whoever manages the store needs to go back to customer service school. A courtesy phone call, text or email would have been appreciated. I can not trust Maple Grove Vision Works with scheduling appointments. Salute

I was stuck in line while the receptionist was busy showing glasses to someone else. By the time it was my turn, they told me I was too late for my appointment.I will never visit any visionwork again!

The doctor should be in person so that appointments are not so rushed. Doctors are on telehealth and switched around so no relationship is built between costumers and professionals. This is a poor customer service structure and allows for little customer relations/loyalty to be fostered. Also, many staff were also rushed due to many customers coming in and seemingly undertrained... this left professionals quick to dismiss issues. They could probably create less exams if this is the case to fix this issue... I don't know why they make exams available every 15 minutes if they are not able to actually accommodate this. Saw the doctor for a total of about 5 minutes but was at the store for an hour and a half... The disconnect between the telehealth and actual in person environment of the store is apparent. Telehealth is too fast for the stores to keep up. SUPER frustrating as a customer because I have to pay out of pocket for my exams and I do not feel like my needs were taken seriously. I went in just for the doctor to rush through my exams and then a different doctor (because there's two different doctors that see you during the telehealth appointment for some reason so NO continuation there) for the second doctor to use an outdated prescription despite me having had a checkup at the same VisionWorks location last year that the technician could find. Thus the doctor teetered around two vastly different prescriptions before I had to advocate for myself and say that my vision had changed for him to just say "Go with whatever you want" and thus I ended up with the same prescription as the previous year with no conversation about new issues that I had brought up about my current contacts brand and vision. Honestly, just very very disappointed in this experience as a whole.

This place is gross. They don’t always clean their equipment. They had me press my face against a greasy instrument. When I brought it to the employee’s attention, whose name was Joy, they said it was “condensation”. Which it clearly was not.
The lenses on the instrument was so dirty it was hard to see through. This is a device that’s supposed to measure your eye Health. It was so damn dirty you can’t barely see through it. This feels like malpractice.

You need to think twice before visiting them!!
I wish there was stars in negative, I will rate you -5 stars. Here is my bad experience with them,
I did the eye exam and the prescription turned close to the current classes. The new classes they did for me was blurry and caused my to see objects twice and caused me a head ache in few minutes. I revisited them, Jennifer told me, these classes are not right for you as I have stigmatism and the frame they suggested to me was curved and the material used for lenses was not right. She said we will fix it and I had to pick another frame with straight shape. Then they asked me to revisit them twice and they claimed they want to make sure the new classes will fit my need. 3 weeks later, Jennifer called me and said we can not change your frame. Hard luck!!!

My husband ordered glasses and was given a promise date of 2 weeks later. No call on that day, so we checked the order status online. They weren’t even in process yet. When I called to inquire, I was unapologetically told that glasses take 2-3 weeks to manufacture and I should just wait. I asked what recourse there may be for missing a PROMISE date, and I was told there is nothing. They just get to take as long as they “need.” We wouldn’t even have been upset if not given an unrealistic date that they then missed and didn’t even reach out about.Giving 2 stars because the employee who helped us order was friendly and efficient.

So helpful and so friendly! Lost the screw on a pair of Oakley sunglasses and little did I know - only certain places care Oakley screws. The staff tried so hard to get another screw to work, but alas could not. Offered payment, but they said a positive Google review was good enough. Would definitely do business here, they went the extra mile!

The staff is very kind knowledgeable and helpful. My 14 year old granddaughter and I had back to back appointments, and it went smooth and efficient. We’ve been going here for 6 years now, but this time was the best experience we’ve had.
