I am writing this to warn people who are buying cars out of state from this dealership. Before purchasing an RS3 I had asked two times if they were sure the vehicle had not been tuned as I had a concern with the red line on the RPMs. I was assured that this dealership would not accept any vehicle that’s engine had been altered. They verified they had a device that could check if the vehicle has ever been tuned and reversed and they assured me this had been done on the car prior to it being traded in. Upon receiving my vehicle I called the closes tuning shop to the dealership and gave them the vin number. Within 20 mins it was verified with me that the vehicle has been tuned prior to the sale. This constitutes a clear misrepresentation of the vehicles condition and significantly impacts both its reliability and resale value.
While disappointed with the vehicles condition it took an additional 85 days from the date of purchase of the vehicle to be registered in the state I live in. Now I will not fault them 100% on this as the RMV is also responsible for the length of time it took. However, I will say the lack of communication from the dealership really delayed this process. They didn’t double check the paperwork before submitting everything causing this delay three times that could have been avoided if they processed it correctly the first time. There were multiple pages of misspelled names, wrong personal information and vehicle information. This delay caused unnecessary inconvenience and prevented me from legally driving the vehicle for an extended period of time. It resulted in my insurance policy being cancelled two times and numerous days I had to leave work early to recollect all the information that was needed. I will never purchase a vehicle from them again as their lack of communication, consideration, and empathy impacted my purchase. I hope this situation never happens to anyone again.
