Jerry and the team have been taking care of my vehicles for 4 years. My dad was told by a dealership that he needed a $4000 repair on his Traverse. He brought it in to Maplewood Auto Service yesterday and they told him there was a minor leak in a seal. The repair the dealership wanted to do was not necessary and was not even the cause of the leak. Having an honest, trustworthy mechanic is hard to find. This is the place! Thank you Jerry!!!

Wow. My husband and I stopped in to have the vehicle we are looking to purchase checked out and were blown away at the kindness we were shown! When we got there, the general manager was speaking to a customer ahead of us and spoke to her with such kindness and grace. Then got to us and was again so kind, even though we were late. While we were waiting on the inspection, another man popped in and again, we were blown away by the manager! Jerry was a blessing and we will 100% be coming back.

I recently referred a friend of mine to Maplewood Auto Service. She took her Honda Pilot here after it started misfiring on cylinder three and the traction control light came on. After a thorough inspection, the team found a cracked spark plug and some badly clogged filters.
They replaced two of the spark plugs—the others were still in great shape, which saved her some money right off the bat. They also replaced the filters and completed an oil change, all for a very fair price!
While there may still be an underlying compression issue, Jerry took the time to explain everything clearly and in a way she could easily understand. His honesty and professionalism really stood out.
They’ve definitely earned my trust—I’m a customer for life. See you at my next oil change!

Reason for my one star? Called for a appointment to be made for a alignment for Thursday April 3rd at 8am. I went in and got there at 7:40am to find out to be down as oil changed?!? But then we got that situation figured out. Reason for a alignment was because I changed out my outer tire rod on both sides and I checked all bushings and ball joints where good prior to going which was 2 days before the appointment also had a mechanic checked it as well and said everything looks good and just needed a alignment. When I got there they said alignment is $151 but if your ball joints are bad we’ll charge you with a $40 inspection fee and won’t continue with alignment and so I said alright that’s fine. 15mins later the guy comes and tell me your lower ball joint is loose. (My fault on my end was I should’ve told him to show me cause I knew how a bad lower ball joint looks like.) so we talked and I asked how much it would be to fix that and do alignment and he said $600. Told him I’ll pass and so then I Went to another shop called honest1 Auto Care for a 2nd opinion and told them “I wanted a alignment and the place I went to which was Maplewood Auto serivce said my lower front ball joint passenger side was loose”. GUESS WHAT after Honest1 Auto care took a look and showed me and said everything looks tight and fine and nothing was loose. I also got my alignment done for a good price which was lower than $151!
Can’t not believe that you guys at Maplewood Auto Service were trying to cheat me out of my freaking money. Dishonest people who stole $40 bucks and tried to tell me that I need to change out my lower ball joint. UNBELIEVABLE and DISHONEST DO NOT GO HERE!!

Jerry and his team are friendly and very transparent with their assessment of our car issues. I take both my vehicle and my wife's in for maintenance and oil changes. We had an alternator break on us and Jerry and his team were able to both confirm our diagnosis and replace it same day!

My partner and I moved to MN in 2022 and have been going to Maplewood Auto Service since then - they’ve done our car’s rotations, oil changes, changed a dead battery, and changed our brakes and break pads when they were shot and making a weird noise! We just yesterday had someone hit the car while parked (our bumper pretty much fell off) and they took it off for free. Thank you to Jerry specifically, he’s always been able to fit us in the schedule last minute and the price quotes have been very fair. Thank you also for keeping our car in working condition and being so accommodating and honest!

For the last 10 years or more I have relied on my brother to tell me who to use for auto repairs. The place we had used for a number of years is under new ownership and my brother was unhappy with the quality and price of the repairs. Of course this happened right before my car required a repair and I was left to surf the internet to figure out where to go. I fell down the internet rabbit hole trying to decide who to trust and where to go.
I stumbled upon Maplewood Auto Service and read all of the wonderful reviews. I still did not have any idea about where to go, but pulled the trigger based on the glowing reviews. I called Maplewood Auto Service on a Monday at 4:00 pm and was in at 8:00 am on Tuesday. I was greeted by Jerry who is mentioned by name in many of the reviews I read. Jerry was as kind as pleasant as everyone said he was. We discussed the two issues I was having. We agreed that one issue needed to be repaired and he provided me with different quotes (depending on what kind of parts I would use) for the other repair. The second repair was a large expensive repair (I knew it would be based on my own research) and rather than Jerry trying to sell me on why the repair needed to be done that day, he told me that he did not believe the repair needed to be done immediately and suggested that I wait until or unless I noticed issues with my car acceleration. What? An honest auto repair shop? Unheard of! But that is what Jerry and Maplewood Auto Service provided me. Jerry even gave me a ride home from the shop while my other repair (the blowers which blew heat stopped working and we're talking December in Minnesota. This girl needs heat!) was being performed. I had been home for about 10 minutes and received a text that my repair was complete. Talk about fast service! The blower works perfectly and I am nice and toasty in my car. I believe the price I paid for the parts and labor was fair. This is a business after all and they employ skilled mechanics. I expected that they have to make a profit and you should as well, otherwise they would be out of business. With that in mind I believe the price I was charged was fair and reasonable. The great customer service is the icing on the cake and they don't even charge for that. lol. Highly Recommend.
