Have had bad experience before of the manager following and having security following me.
Another thimy is the location of water bottles and thermus is horrible and also almost nothing to choose from. They just threw it on shelves probably replaced with useless halloween appeal in August

Its large. This Menards is divided into 2 different sections. One retail and one for garden and lumber. The staff is friendly if you can find one. Keep your receipts if you want a refund or know what card you used. If you used cash and don't have a receipt you'll get a Menards gift check.

Do NOT under any circumstances, ever buy a chainsaw here. The second you put any fluids in it, you won't be able to return or exchange it. My poulanpro saw was defective. They would not take it back, and suggested a local repair shop, who blundered it and managed to cause even more damage to it, and still charged for labor. For quality power tools and equipment, look elsewhere. Home depot, Northern tool and equipment or even Harbor freight.

I went to Menard's looking for some nuts and bolts . I can hardly walk and I was on one of the store carts . I couldn't reach the bolts . they were too low. I asked the girl if she could reach them for me and she said ok, turned and walked away. she went and started helping someone else and that was ok. then she just stood there and was talking to and laughing and then she asked someone else if she could help them so I quick asked if she could quick hand me the bolts from the bottom shelf and she looked around and walked away. I tried to reach for them my self and I fell on the floor, bruised my knee and elbow , I went up to the service desk and only one person was ahead of me but everyone kept cutting in front of me and the employees working could of asked to help me but they didn't . I only live a couple of blocks from the Maplewood Store by Hwy 61 and Highway 36 in Maplewood Minnesota but I will never go back there again. I will drive yo Woodbury or Stillwater or Blane before I ever think about going back to Maplewood . This is not the first time I have have had problems there.
I WILL POST THE ON FACE BOOK AND TWITTER AND ALL OF THE MENARDS SOCIAL MEDIA

the place has gotten better over the past years. things that do bother me are the sales they run. it's not a sale if you have to mail in slips with a receipt and are given back in store credit in return. Don't call it a sale if you're not giving money back and/or making the customer jump through hoops to receive any type of compensation! they have gotten better tool brands but still no Milwaukee or DeWalt branded tools.

Went to Maplewood Menards today--looking for "S" hooks to hang plants from my pergola. There were two packs of S hooks left--each had two hooks and were $1.97/pack. Went to the garden center (GC) check out. Cashier was a young fellow who left after ringing up the person ahead of me. He was replaced by a young gal who rang me up at 1:32 p.m.--$5.97 plus tax. I had 5 ones and a 20 so gave her the 20. Change was $13.60; however, there were NO ones in the register. Cashier got on the radio to notify someone. While waiting, people came up to to check out and were told by the cashier that it might "be a while."
I noticed on the checkout screen I had been charged THREE two-packs instead of two. Total with tax would have been less than $5. I pointed out that I was overcharged and suggested the transaction be cancelled and to start over. I would then pay with 5 ones. The cashier informed me that she couldn't do that and directed me to the customer service desk (this was apparently what the CS desk told her over the radio). I said, "I need my $20 back" which she gave me. So, what should have been a one-minute transaction (if that) had now been at least five minutes.
I then went into the store. Customer service desks are usually near the front doors. So, I was looking for a sign saying "Customer Service" or "Returns" that would either be hanging over the customer service (CS) desk or on the wall above. I walked past all the check out lanes, turned around and went to one of the check out lanes to ask where the customer service desk was. The cashier said there was more than one but then pointed to one that was nearby.
The two gals at the CS desk were assisting another customer. When it was my turn, I explained the situation. The older looking gal (who might have been a supervisor) apparently was the one who had talked to the GC cashier. I had assumed that when I was told to go to the CS desk that the CS person could somehow undo the transaction and then ring me up for the correct amount. Instead, the CS gal said I had to go BACK to the garden center! She apparently was going to accompany me. What was the point of me going to the CS desk only to be told I had to go BACK to the garden center??!! If the gal from CS had to fix the issue at the GC check out, why was it necessary for me to go to the CS desk? Why couldn't I just wait at the GC register for the CS gal to arrive? The CS gal made a comment about how I had been given my $20 back (what did that have to do with anything?). Yes! Do you honestly think I would have left the garden center without getting my money back? This was now about 15 minutes of my time from the moment I tried to check out in the garden center, spent a couple minutes trying to find the CS desk, then waiting a minute or two while the CS gals took care of another customer, and then being told I needed to go back to the garden center. I was completely frustrated at that point. I told the CS gal that I no longer wanted the hooks. She needed the receipt to apparently void the transaction so I gave it to her. Apparently, she couldn't void it at the CS desk as she went to one of the check out lanes to do so. I left at that point.
Talk about a clown show! This particular scenario shouldn't have been that difficult. I don't regularly shop at Menards but in the last 40 years I've done two kitchen remodels and have spent thousands of dollars at Menards for that--and I might add that both times the kitchen planner made a mistake which we were charged for (although we were reimbursed--the first time it took filing a complaint with the MN Attorney General for Menards to do the right thing). Menards is not the only game in town. I doubt after today that I will be shopping there any time soon.

Made an order from here to renovate my kitchen. All the items arrived but the customer service was terrible. On the delivery date, they told me that they were short 7 knobs and that I can pick up or they can deliver it to me when it was back in stock. I told them that was fine. A week goes by and I texted them, but get no response so I decided to go into the store to ask for an update. The knobs were definitely delivered but not sorted through so they told me they would call me the next day. They called me the next day. I went up to pick up my knobs, there was no one working at the counter where they told me to pick up my items. I asked for someone to page for a worker. 15-20 minutes goes by. Nobody shows up, I ask another worker to page someone. They finally showed up and gave me my knobs. I drive back home (WBL) to find out that 3 of the knobs were wrong, so then I had to make another trip out to get those knobs replaced. The worker told me that the knobs were all mixed up where they kept it so somebody must of messed up during stocking them. Very unorganized and inconvenient.
