Kate gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. I wish I would’ve found her sooner as I’d spent my entire life going to the chain places and never liking the results. I will be coming here from now on and I highly recommend Kate!

When I moved to White Bear I was in desperate need of a good haircut. My friend was getting married the weekend after I moved here and I was looking scraggly. My husband was also in need of a haircut so it was crunch time to find a place. I chose Mode Salon because it had the most reviews of the salons in White Bear. I also chose it because it had online booking, but I can never seem to get that to work. :/ I spoke with the woman at the front and asked her about setting up appointments and the cost. The stylists working on a sliding scale depending on what you want and their level of experience. In the past I've been burned by this kind of experience because I didn't ask the price before booking. This time I asked for prices and who would be the best for a men's haircut. We got set up with Beth. Beth was really nice. She was very friendly and easy to talk with. She gave us advice on places to look at for living, what to do in the area, and what has changed since my husband had left for CA. The haircut was also quick lasting probably no more than 30 minutes. Our last place would take well over an hour usually. The price wasn't bad either. It was $28 for each of us, which is reasonable for a man's haircut. The haircut was good. Way better than most I've had, but not quite the same as the two best haircuts I've ever had (once in Spain and once in Pasadena). Friendly service, easy to book, good location, and speedy. 43/100

Mode is warm and inviting, unlike some of the " institutionalized" salons in the area. The employees are kind and welcoming; no judgmental snobs here! My stylist is the absolute best I've ever had - David Benson. He is extremely talented and a pleasure to know. He makes me feel beautiful, and has truly perfected his art! If you are lucky enough to get an appointment with him, no one else will ever come close! I Highly recommend Mode and David Benson!

The first time I walked in the door, it felt warm and homey. I was cheerfully greeted by the lady at the desk...to every stylist who came by. The highlight for me was David Benson. This amazing man is such an incredible stylist. He is precision and perfection through and through. He cares about his clients, wanting to have us leave completely happy. Book an appointment with him...you will wish he had always been your stylist.

I really like this salon and highly recommend it. Reasonable prices for a chic salon in downtown White Bear Lake. Jamie is a great stylist and gives the best scalp massage during the wash! I couldn't be happier with finding a great new salon!

BAD HAIR CUT..Just had my hair cut for the first time by Lyndsey G. at Mode. I was very excited to get a new style and spoke with Lyndsey about my concerns on getting a new style and having thick hair. She assured me it would look great and she knew exactly what to do. She ended up cutting my hair much shorter than what we discussed (it think she ended up having to cut it shorter because she kept cutting it because she couldn't make it even) the back of my hair looks like someone BUTCHERED it. I'm ok that it ended up shorter than we discussed, it will grow back but, its awful that she let me walk out of the shop with my hair looking so bad......

Love this place, I have been going to Dena for years and she is just absolutely awesome. They have great products and not crazy prices. I get compliments on my hair all the time- no really strangers on the street, and I always tell them about Mode. I have never walked away crying from this salon, but have come in crying because of another salon. Save yourself the time and just come here first!

I love coming to Mode!! The women who work there are absolutely FABulous! I am a regular with Dena, and boy is she a riot! That girl can get you to dish on just about anything! She talked me into getting bangs, which I don't think I've had since kindergarten, and I LOVE them! I love being pampered, and I love me some girl-time, so this is a double-whammy! Just what a salon experience should be, right?? They use great products, and know what they're doing, so it's easy to just let your lady do her thang! Be prepared to drop some bucks on your do when you step in here, but know that you'll be taken care of! :) Happy pamper!

Kelly Ann has been my stylist for about 8 years now. I now live in Seattle and schedule haircuts when I am in Minnesota so that I can still keep regular with Kelly Ann. Since living in Seattle I have had two haircuts that don't even compare to Kelly Ann - they were awful. Kelly Ann always has great suggestions for haircuts when I can't make up my mind, or she humors me when I bring in a photo of a prospective haircut that I would like. I can't say enough great things about Kelly Ann - I trust her wholeheartedly and would let her do anything to my precious hair. Mode Salon as a whole is great - I moved with Kelly Ann when she transferred to Mode and I really enjoy the salon. It is much more intimate, the receptionist is always overly friendly and the space is beautiful and always clean.

Kelly Ann is my grrrrl for hookin up my inner cuteness! New salon- SUPER CLEAN! yummish smelling products and a slight nod to the more natural side of styling products. Take a walk around the lake after- it's good for ya!
