My packages are literally pounded into my mail box weather the fit or not on a constant basis. Put a letter in the box before I went to work flag was up. Came home from work went to get mail and flag was still up and new mail on top of my letter.

Although I cannot dispute the experiences below, the fellow in the office is very friendly and helpful when the office is open.

The blonde lady at this location chewed me out for ordering packages. I live near this post office work in Brainerd. They want me to drive to the post office to pick up food and medical items. I have to work during the hours the post office is open. They claim they are not allowed to turn around or park on the road to drop off packages. However, FedEx and UPS seem to be able to drop off packages with 100% reliability. I think the difference is that FedEx and UPS would fire someone that is rude and refuses to deliver packages, like the horrible blonde lady at this location.

Our family has had a Summer Cabin in Merrifield, Minnesota since 1939. For 83 years this post office, regardless of how small or its actual location, has always been extremely personable and helpful. The former postmaster, Mike, was on a first name basis with almost every person who walked in here, even if we weren't here 10 months out of the year. We never struggled to mail or receive mail or packages while on vacation in the summer.Welcome to 2023 when all of a sudden we can't get mail or packages delivered to our cabin anymore. I have used Amazon for YEARS while I have been here, because it's an 18 mile drive to the closest town with full-service shopping. this summer we are only at the lake for two weeks, but there were some things that were left behind, and some things that we found broken when we arrived, so I had to do a little Amazon shopping spree. When my items had not arrived for three days, I called the post office to see if they have been dropped here. some of them had, so I came in to pick them up. when I got here, the same blonde woman referenced in the other review here, basically chewed me out for ordering things on Amazon, and told me, " just don't, or we won't accept them." She told me that Amazon doesn't deliver out to the lakes area anymore, and that the mail carriers won't deliver to seasonal patrons who are not full-time customers. She then told me that I could easily purchase a post office box for $44 for the two weeks that I am here if I wanted to receive Amazon packages. I already pay $90 a year to use Amazon prime, I'm not going to pay $44 to receive packages for two weeks! She also got bent with me because I told her that not all of my packages had arrived yet, and that there would be more coming the next day. I made one order, but those things were being delivered over a three-day period.I came back the next day for the next set of packages, but when I came back today to pick up the third day's worth of packages, she told me they hadn't been accepted. When I went on Amazon, it basically told me the same thing, that my packages were not deliverable, and that I would get a refund. One of those things was a coffee maker, and so now we have gone into town to buy a coffee maker, and the one I want from Walmart can only be purchased on their website and mailed to you. The irony! It's really disappointing that even in small-town America, customer service just isn't what it used to be. I'm a little more understanding back in the LA area where I live because there are so many people to service, but out here where it's supposed to be "Minnesota Nice", it seems ridiculous.

The lady with the dreads is super cool, but the other one is the most rude person I've ever dealt with. They complain about a mailbox snowed in, still won't deliver after its cleared.

Reserved a PO Box online. Site told me to go to the actual Post Office to show ID. Employee was flustered and did not know how to finsh the paperwork and told me to come back tomorrow and talk to Post Master. (a wasted 30 mile trip) called just now the next morning and and spoke to an insanely rude Post Master, Jessie, who barked at me from the get go, and actually snapped, "Well, I don't get it, what do you want?" Then when I tried to explain, she hung up on me, and would not pick up the phone again. Just a shame.

We have had a post office box here for years. After we bought our house we decided to keep our PO box instead because it's just easier for us and we don't have to worry about our mail. There have been some recent changes to staff but prior to that they knew our box number and if they saw me walk in would have my package waiting before I even got to the window.

I have used the Merrifield MN post office twice this year and had the misfortune to be "helped" by the same blonde woman. The first time I hadn't finished asking my question when she began making assumptions and chewing me out. My husband had a similar experience on the second visit when trying to pick up a package that he had ordered. She started getting angry with him about the address on the package, which he had addressed according to her instructions. I didn't get her name but I'm betting coworkers know who she is. if anyone in management is reading this, be advised that she would be better suited to a job that didn't involve dealing with the public, or really anybody. Future customers, if you see a slim blonde woman working, use the Nisswa branch instead - it's worth the drive. Lastly, I very rarely leave reviews. This woman was so rude that I actually reset my password to leave this one.

Would give zero stars if it was available. We get 4 to 5 people's mail in our personal mailbox at least 2 to 3 times a week. Left a note that it was our personal mailbox and.not a community mailbox. They balled it up and threw it back into the box. Next day I received 4 different people's mail! Went to office multiple times and postmaster was extremely rude and dismissive to us. If we get a package that's too big for the box they won't bring it to the house and drop it off. And yet I watched them deliver next door right to their door. If I could switch post offices I surely would.

Worst post office I have ever dealt with in the U.S. Extremely lazy drivers, abusive to my packages and do not deliver packages to my house, EVER. Have also had Mail opened! Always a different excuse to not deliver!
