Usually I am NOT the one to record things and post them on the internet and definitely not for CLOUT. But my experience at DICK'S Sporting Goods in Ridgedale Mall was one of the WORST experiences I’ve had in a while. Me and my son walked into dicks to purchase a pair of shoes since the vans I bought just didn’t work out for him.
Patrice decided to help us or NOT, and my experience was less than subpar with her. We walked up to the kids section and she told us here was the cheapest shoe section which I didnt respond to that comment. I let cinco pick out his shoes because I wanted to make that moment special for him. She got us the size we needed, he liked the shoes and she then asked if I was done shopping and if she could bring my bags to the front (small vans bag, small old navy bag) I was taken aback and told her no. I walked to the front of the store and told them my name and asked if it was TYPICAL for the employees to ask customers for their bags? One girl looked at me with the weirdest face and told me “UM NO!” I said okay well can I please speak to a manager?
Jared comes up and I let him know that I am upset with my experience in his store today and told him my story, he asked if it was PATRICE, which tells me this isn’t the first time something has happened and he proceeded to tell me he didn’t think it came from a place of MALICE but he understood me being upset. I walked out of the store with the shoes PURCHASED, I thought about my experience and decided to go in and let her know how I felt POLITELY because we get NOWHERE being loud and irate besides even more PROFILED. I recorded the interaction and during that Interaction she started to cry which let me know she KNEW she was WRONG, after the interaction I returned the shoes and asked for a corporate number.
Another employee rudely came up to me and asked me to move out of the way as if I was taking up space, there were 4 registers open and two people behind me, as I was waiting for the manager to come back up to get me corporates number he asked me to take my bags off the counter because it kept making the tag reader go off. I kept my composure and waited for them to get me the number and I thanked them and left.
With everything going on in the world I chose to show my son a better example of a good person and how to stand up for yourself.
I used to spend a lot of money at Dicks Sporting Goods but I will choose to spend my money elsewhere.

Great place with lots of good stuff but the shoes on the bottom floor never have many sizes or any that fit me, but still great place

Went in today for Hockey skates and had a great experience! Graham was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us deciding as well as sharpening and molding the skates to my feet!

Brady was awesome!! Huge holiday rush and we stupidly forgot to ask for a gift receipt. We stopped him and asked if could help and he just told us to wait right there and took care of it in a flash and was so kind! Great service from Brady!

This place has gone to trash! They always match prices but on Black Friday they seem to not want to! Talk about ripping people off! No wonder people shop online and stores are closing around the country. So i came in looking for some Nike sweatpants and asked them if they would match the Nike app. They said NO cause Nike has a code for 30% off Black Friday sale. Well it’s a sale! Right? Am I missing something? Here is the kicker!! I asked two employees that happen to be filling in from another store. They said that there store do match Nike App sales codes and they don’t understand why this one is not. They also said they don’t think Dick’s Corp office would like to see customer turned away or even hear that this practices is being done at this location.
My Google review reach over 5 million people a month and over 1/2 million within 50 miles of this location so I hope it reaches the Target audience for this store.

I went in store to exchange for a new size from 9 to a 8 1/2 and it was just an odd experience. It’s actually been off the last 3 times I’ve been in this month (starting a shoe collection). But yea.. back to the story. When I came to switch out my shoes she called for a manager only for him to tell me I have the wrong insoles in the shoe. I put more comfortable ones in for walking purposes. But I asked her you couldn’t have just told me instead of asking for a manager so I could just go home and grab them, and she just looked at me off. Long story even longer, I went home right away to grab the right ones right away. Just always having odd experience in this store.
Last time I was in with my son looking at shoes 4 days ago, we couldn’t hold our boxes while we still shopped for more shoes for him. Just odd because I saw people of a different race doing the same thing.
I must say though, this only happens by the shoes and the registration by the shoes. My wife and I have had nothing but good experiences everywhere else. Where workers come up and ask you questions, instead of making eye contact with you then turn and proceed to other things.
Just want to point that out, because it’s not bad everywhere else. I wish I would have looked at their name tags so I could have left these specific individuals. I’m sure the store will know because she’s always at the shoe register in the morning, I just happen to always get her when checking out.

Had a really nice experience shopping for shoes tonight, Miguel and another employee were really nice and helpful. We tried on alot of shoes and were really able to narrow down exactly what we wanted

HORRIBLE costumer service I just called to ask a simple question so see if they had some shoes and was given such bad attitude and I would know because I have a rough day ever once in awhile but this was just out of pocket I do NOT recommend calling this store if you don’t want to cry.

Terrible service. Wanted to try on some shoes but Waited over 10 minutes before I left. Not enough help and they walk with their heads down so you can’t flag them down. Scheels has much better customer service

Joe is the best! He helped us find a water bottle we had come in to buy. Joe was the only employee there that came up to us to ask if we needed any help. We also had a very pleasant conversation with him while we were there. Come to find out, Joe is 84! We were so surprised as he definitely does not look it-but also surprised that he was not just able to assist us, but also give us a great shopping experience! I think his coworkers could take some time to learn a thing or two from him. Will be coming back for any shopping needed-thanks to Joe!
