Our family started taking our miniature dachshunds to Gehrman Animal Hospital 44 years ago. Even though the docs have changed, the atmosphere is always welcoming and cheerful. Everyone in the office as well as the techs and of course,the vets are top-notch. They treat you like our puppy is the only patient they have all day, and you get undivided attention during your appointment.

Dr. Jen/Rob are excellent, but the management is poor. After over 10 years of using them, I had an emergency during biz hours....I told them I was on my way and they said not to come. I went anyways (minutes from home) and was given a "maybe" that they could see my pet. I needed a quick procedure (10 min) that a tech can do, and eventually they did it (time was of the essence) and charged me Blue Pearl (ER) rates - $250. As if that wasn't bad enough, I had a chat with office manager Bridgette, who said snidely..."well your pet is ok, isn't he?" - 3 times.....it was all bad, uncaring, bureaucratic....not my previous experience, but they are in dire need of a new office manager and client communications stating their policies under emergencies....so done.

Great Vets and Staff!! We have never been to a vet that will sit down with your pet and talk with them to put them at ease. Not only do they care for your pet but also your concerns. Knowing people have financial difficulties they start with the basics without ordering expensive tests. We had to take our dog twice in an emergency basis and could not get better care. Thank you!!

Such a great vet. All of the vets and vet techs I have seen are wonderful and kind. Prices are reasonable. They have taken great care of my dog after he had heartworm and were willing to answer any questions. You can talk they all really care about the animals staying there. I cannot recommend Gehrman enough!

Best vet clinic I have been to. I bring my cat here monthly to get her nails trimmed! They are so nice and caring.

The vets and vet techs here are some of the best. They take the absolute best care of our babies every time we come in and they are extremely knowledgeable and take their time with the cats every time we have come in. They are so caring and gentle and we love them. We couldn’t ask for better care and eduction from the team here. I couldn’t recommend them any more!

It could not have been better. I turned 80 in August 2021 and I have never been to a Vet Clinic as caring as Gehrman. When we (Cassie and myself) walked into that exam room we felt at ease. In fact, when the Dr. and assistant walked into the room it felt like I had known them most of my life. To be at a clinic where there is no question about staff genuinely loving animals is a breath of fresh air. Dr. Stefanknep was really special. I was told he is new to Gehrman Clinic. What an awesome Dr. to have as part of your staff. When I was leaving I was sitting in the outer lobby and one of your staff came from outside and started talking to Cassie through the door of her carrier. I said Hi and she told me she is the one that gave Cassie that awesome "Lion Clip". (She does look like a little lion). In short, I can't thank you guys enough and Cassie says to tell you, you have a patient for life. (Now it is months later. Christmas 2021 is three days away. Cassie wants to tell you guys to have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Newyear. I do as well.)

A vet office that does not care about animals, clients and is certainly not a hospital! Called them this morning because our puppy was having breathing/coughing sessions to let them know I am on the way to bring her in. The person that answered the phone told me not to and gave me a name of a different hospital in Golden Valley to take her to (we have never been to that hospital). I mentioned to her that Golden Valley is not close to me but she insisted. Called the Golden Valley hospital only to find out they are closed. Called Gehrman back (all this while driving) to let them know they gave me wrong info and asked them if I should finally bring my dog in or find a different vet. The same person gave me a lecture about how it is going to cost more money to take our dog to them first because they will send it somewhere else anyways and when I cut her off by saying "does it sound like I care about the cost?", she suddenly put me on hold and never came back. Stay away! They are good if you need your dog's nails clipped or need vaccinations (which every little vet office out there can do these things) but are definitely NOT a hospital, don't care about their customers and won't be there for them when they need them.

Amazing people work here. They care so much about your fur babies and are just an amazing and special bunch of people. We have used then for our cats and dogs. Always handle everything with compassion.

Dr Jen and Team has been amazing! Not only with Sawyer but losing my dog Sheena (they had never met). They get pets 100% but people too!! Thank you Gerhman Animal Hospital !

Was hoping to find a local vet for my 7 yr-old papillon/ toy poodle mix, so I took him in for the first time in the spring. It's more expensive than other options, but I was OK with that, as long as I could come in prepared on the costs. The first appointment was quick and everyone was friendly. I asked for a quote on teeth cleaning, and they were able to provide me one and mentioned a seasonal discount I could take advantage of. After the check up, I noticed my dog was a bit loopy for the next couple of days, which I thought was odd, since they hadn't mentioned giving him any medication beyond the standard vaccinations and I had never seen him like that before. Then, recently, I tried to book a tooth cleaning, and it seemed like they forgot the standard costs of blood work, etc. that would be a necessary component of the procedure. I feel a little duped knowing I requested all the cost estimates before transferring my dog's care and then got nickel and dimed out of the office. I did not feel the experience was any better than the much lower cost alternatives. I guess the $500 I dropped on the first 15 minute appointment was the cost to learn that lesson.

we've had really good experiences with the docs at Gehrman- have seen quite a few - Rob, Liz and Jen, and Dr. Gehrman, right before retirement dealt with a tumor on my golden/border collie mix. Yesterday I had to put my kitty down and Dr. Jen did a fantastic job in answering my questions and the process, although gut-wrenching, was as compassionate as it could possibly be...all the docs and staff have both the joy and empathy for one's pets...

I have looked for a good vet for years! This is by far the best care I have every received for my 2 dogs. They are our babies and Gehrman has very much earned our trust and appreciation. Fair pricing (I think it's a bargain given the care we get). They are so good I referred my best friend to them (she has my boy Roux's sister Ruby) and she drives from Minneapolis to get service because they are that good. They have seen her dog through Heart worm and mine through a surgery and many other issues. Their surgeon called us before and after the surgery and provided her email address for any questions! They were very good at giving us all options regardless of cost and were calling out what was not necessary to do, but was an option. Dr. Matt was our original vet, he was amazing but he had moved on. We switch to Dr. Jenna, I absolutely love her! My friend has Dr. Jen and raves about her. The front Desk staff and the technicians are so warm and friendly. It feels like home and I will always go to Gehrman. Any doctor/staff I have interacted with been amazing! Thank you for taking care of our babies!
