While traveling through town my phone went into safe mode. The phone then went unresponsive. Ruben was able to stop the phones excessive beeping and diagnosed the issue. Ruben is a superhero and I would do all my Verizon business with him if I lived here.

I've been with Verizon since 2004. I ordered a phone online, as I typically do. With a major holiday coming up the quickest way to get the phone I needed was to pick up locally. Ordered the phone at 4:27 pm and didn't get the notification the phone was ready until the next day, no big deal. Went in on my lunch break to pick it up so I had a little time, but also needed to get back. My assumption is it should be a quick in and out. After all, I've paid online and they've already set aside my new phone per my text notification. Unfortunately, the guy helping me had no idea what to do. There was another, more experienced, employee helping another couple and trying to walk him through the process at the same time. My employee also needed to call someone on the phone multiple times (another manager?). It took about 30 minutes. I didn't want the phone activated because I needed to head straight back to work. I didn't want to be messing with a new phone at work. Later, when I did try to activate, no luck. Activation screen sits there for 10 minutes, wheel spinning. I go to the Verizon app on my old phone and try to activate new phone from there. It says successful! Great, right?! Wrong! The new phone isn't working still. Now my old phone doesn't work either because it's been deactivated. I go out to my car to get the receipt I was given to try to call the store from my wife's phone. It's 5 minutes before close and can't get anyone to answer. Then I study the receipt and notice the IEMI number of the phone I was given and the one on the receipt don't match. I was given the wrong phone!! I remember the more experienced employee told my employee to check it multiple times. I watched him look at the screen and the box, back and forth, so I assumed he got it right. Now it's a holiday weekend. New phone doesn't work, old phone doesn't work (emergency calls only). I was trying to save time by picking up locally. Never again. Check your serial numbers or activate, if you have time, before you leave. Over the years, Elk River is the only Verizon Store where I've had smooth interactions. I called Verizon customer service from my wife's phone and they got my old phone reactivated. I can't go back to the store to get the correct phone until after the holiday (2 days), since they're closed. It seems training at this store is not adequate. This is what I get for trying to save money for overnight shipping. Very frustrating. I'll update this review upon trying to exchange for my correct phone.

I don’t typically leave low reviews or reviews in general but unfortunately, the experience I had here warrants that. I had a simple pick up that was delayed due a simple fix via phone to confirm, but then was hassled to the point of where my husband had to come with my small children to intervene.. my online order was then ignored so the sales rep could cancel that, charge me more in store and push not one expensive screen protector but 2. This honestly was the most uncomfortable / almost hostage holding situation I’ve ever been and you can tell they are heavily sales based not customer based. I will never be returning to particular Verizon nor recommending anyone does.

Very disappointing! They make you buy a $65 screen protector and tell you keep the receipt that it would be an in house replacement free 1 year warranty if it ever got damaged. Go in there with my receipt like the gal told me to do back in January 2023 just for the 2 guys works saying no such thing. Extremely mad about this false advertisement on a screen protector that wasn’t cheap to begin with!
