“Habitat for Humanity is about so much more than just providing a hand up for families to own a home. They help to educate the families financially so they will be able to make wise monetary choices with their income. They also provide outstanding volunteer opportunities to help at the build site, serving on committees, marketing and fundraising to name a few. They are a hard working group of people who know how to make it fun too!”
“I have a son in a wheelchair, and Hope Inc has really been a godsend. If you have any kind of disability as a child or adult, and want to play a sport, this is the place. It's also a great way to meet and connect with other parents/adults/children. There are so MANY sports and other activities to do, you'll just be amazed!”
“Life has a way of testing us when we least expect it. Just a few months ago, my family went from stability to crisis in the blink of an eye. I was laid off from my job as a pipe fitter, my wife had just graduated nursing school and was job searching, and our rent suddenly jumped from $1,100 to $1,600 in the same month. My wife, our daughter, and I found ourselves homeless with nowhere to turn.
The VA connected us with Churches United and Micah's Mission, and these incredible organizations became our lifeline. For three months, they provided us with shelter, hope, and dignity when we needed it most. The staff, volunteers, and Pastor Devlyn didn't just give us a place to sleep - they gave us access to resources, support systems, and most importantly, a community that believed in our potential for a better tomorrow.
Today, my wife is working as a registered nurse at Sanford, I've landed a great job as a field technician, and we're now living in a beautiful home in Dilworth. But none of this would have been possible without Churches United and Micah's Mission serving as the bridge between our crisis and our breakthrough.
To anyone facing impossible circumstances: Churches United and Micah's Mission are more than shelters - they're launching pads for new beginnings, staffed by people who see your potential even when you can't see it yourself. They don't just provide temporary relief; they give you the foundation to rebuild your entire life.
From homelessness to homeownership, from despair to hope - this journey taught us that even in our darkest moments, there are angels among us who refuse to let anyone fall alone.
Thank you, Churches United, Micah's Mission, and everyone who makes these miracles possible. You don't just change lives - you save them, restore them, and set them on paths toward purposes greater than we ever imagined.
Forever grateful for the compassion, dignity, and hope you gave our family. ❤️”
“Adopted “Lanae” or as we named her Koda & the volunteers clearly care about the animals. Thank you for completing our family. She’s very much loved already.”
