Hours: Can Do Canines is a dedicated organization that enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with specially trained dogs. Since 1989, they have provided over 800 assistance dogs to clients living with mobility challenges, hearing loss or deafness, seizure disorders, diabetes complicated by hypoglycemia unawareness, or childhood autism, all free of charge. The staff at Can Do Canines are described as always giving 1000% to ensure clients are helped and comfortable with their four-legged partners. Volunteers, who have been with the organization since as early as 2019, express their enjoyment of the work, the wonderful people, and the rewarding impact Can Do Canines has on the community. Volunteering opportunities at Can Do Canines range from welcoming a puppy into one's home to providing an older trained dog more "life" experiences. The organization provides training for all volunteers, regardless of their dog handling experience, and supplies nearly all the necessary resources to foster a dog.
