I've been going up to Causeway for more than 30 years. We own two weeks up there (six months apart) and we're extremely happy with them.
Only disappointing thing is their lack of wi-fi in the units and their no-pet policy. The no-pet policy is understandable (legitimate service and emotional support animals are exempt), but the wi-fi is something that will need to be addressed eventually.
**2022 Edit: There is a problem with the in-unit hot tubs that has forced the shutdown of all tubs. Be aware that this amenity is not currently available.
***2025 Edit: Fiberoptic Wi-Fi should be available January 1 2026. Hot tubs are gone and nothing in their place yet.

Had stayed here a few years ago, thought we’d stay again ~ place is going down hill. Main bathroom toilet could be replaced and shower needs help. Had mice in our unit and they wouldn’t move us to another unit (even though there were plenty of open units) Maintenance guys were great at removing and disposing of the mice.

My family had been coming here for over 35 years. It’s a wonderful family experience. Beautiful spacious units. Nice amenities and a great location in the north end of Gull Lake. Lots of close by attraction, including fishing, boating, shopping and a range of dining options. You will have every opportunity to have a good time.

This place is great for families with kids. There is many activities for people of all ages! The equipment they rent out is in good quality unlike a lot of places we have been. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. My family had a great week. The only drawback was there was not a swimming beach on site however there are many nearby and the outdoor pool area made up for this. Very well run facility!

Always love our time here its been a long running tradition with our family. I just wish if they are not going to keep hot tub serviced and working that they would remove it and add a sleeper couch or something else in that spot.

Place is cozy but the hot tub in the rooms don't work and there is no wifi in the units.

Resort needed a little paint here and there on the exterior in the unit we stayed in but inside very rustic and good views of the lake.

Similar to all other recent reviews the place is falling apart due to no upkeep and poor management. My family has been coming here for 33 years and every year continues to get worse… My kids loved the indoor hot tub in our unit and Causeway has just decide to stop maintaining them and drained every unit due to the expense as far as i'm concerned... I was told it was due to recent mandated building codes! If that was the case you figure they would simply list the code and be transparent??? But instead they cant tell you what the code is or what is even wrong with your units hot tub!
To top it off i went down to the office today and met the new manager. Explained to her that we have grandma coming up here to watch her 3 grandchildren. has a bad back and her and the kids were in that tub 5 plus times a day. Asked if they could accommodate us with one of the golf carts they has sitting there collecting dust and was simply told no!

We have been trying to cancel our timeshare at Causeway at Gull for over a year due to poor upkeep and the units not having working hot tubs as promised when we started and other issues that have interestingly been brought up by other reviews! The experience has been nothing short of frustrating. The customer service is abysmal. Unsurprisingly, a third of the owners have stopped paying their maintenance fees—it's impossible to get any meaningful assistance or resolution from the management.
We strongly recommend looking elsewhere for anyone considering a stay at a Minnesota resort. Causeway at Gull's lack of responsiveness and support has turned our initial excitement into a prolonged nightmare. Save yourself the hassle and choose a resort that values its customers.

I'm very disappointed with Causeway on Gull. Owning a timeshare with them has become a financial and emotional burden, contrary to the beautiful retreat and worthwhile investment we were promised. Problems like black mold, poor maintenance, and non-functional amenities are rampant, and the management has been largely unresponsive. Despite paying off our timeshare, they've refused our request to cancel the contract and take back the property, suggesting instead that we rent it out—a non-solution to the deeper issues. I wish we could say otherwise, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I urge others to think twice before committing to a timeshare here or even doing business with them.

Arrived and thought the place was really nice.
Hot tub and ac did not work, instead of moving my family to a different room they gave us fans. Fans barley worked and Maintenance told me ac just needs to be restarted. The decking was horrible, poor upkeep looks inviting but would not recommend staying. Do better.
