We stayed at Cabin #14 last weekend and truly enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was stocked nicely with pots and pans, view of the water was picture perfect, and saw maybe 5 other people the whole time we were there. We stayed with 4 adults, 2 children, and a dog, and this stay was everything we needed! We utilized the bikes and kayaks.. yes, there are paddles and life jackets (not sure if these other reviews just didn't read signs or give 1 minute to find them). We will likely stay here again!

We took our family and had a great time! Nice facilities, well kept lodging, and plenty to do! The Walleye at the restaurant was really good!

Our 2 BR cabin cost three of us $600/nite. The location was charming and tucked into nature, but the details were lacking: kitchen ok, but no decent pan to cook with. Plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, but no paddles left. Restaurant either closed or the one night we went, we waited over TWO HOURS for terrible food. Cable TV was advertised as included, but it was some weird YouTube tv that wasn’t working first two days of our trip. Anytime we interfaced with a manager, it was very clear they should not be in the hospitality business. I discussed the TV issue with the Manager and he accused me of just seeking a credit. Tom: I wasn’t invited to come stay at your cabin. I PAID $600/night for amenities that were NOT provided. It was clear your staff was overwhelmed on a Holiday weekend; don’t make it your guest’s problem.

Best Walleye I have had in years! Sat in the dining room and was surprised how great the view of the lake is there. We will be back.

NOT ADA accessible! Getting to our cabin was a dangerous joke! Literally ppl in the restaurant were laughing. Up stairs, down stairs then through outdoor restaurant tables then up more stairs then more stairs. Good luck. That particular cabin shouldn't be rented out. Maybe the others are better. It's cabins so you're not going to get much resort type service. Also can't use TV unless you log into your own amazon!?!? Weird. Strange place. But it's nice and quiet at night.

Excellent menu options for all tastes, including sandwiches, burgers, and steak. Friendly and attentive servers with great views of the lake from a patio seat or inside.
Food and drinks: Great restaurant in site open to the public and guests staying on site.

We stayed at Lost Lake Lodge for one week in June for a family vacation. This was our first time staying here as we usually go to the Good Ol’ Days but wanted to try something different this year. When we arrived the first thing we noticed is that the property does not seem to very well kept. All of the grass was very long and the landscaping was not well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful at check-in. We rented cottage #2 which is a pet friendly 3 level cottage with 3 bedrooms, a loft, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a kitchen, and a screened in porch. The cabin was very spacious which was nice as there was 7 of us and 3 small dogs. The cabin was clean but we noticed some issues right away including multiple light bulbs out, no lock on the basement bathroom door, multiple kitchen cabinets loose, multiple faucet handles so loose they would come off the sink, the pool cue holder was coming off the wall, the deck railing was broken, the kitchen wall had lots of scuffs, the flooring had massive gaps, and the fridge water filter needed to be replaced so the fridge would beep constantly. Staff was notified of all of the issues and they fixed some of them the next day but they never replaced the fridge filter and would not replace the door handle on the basement bathroom with one that locks. The first night we all discovered the beds were not very comfortable. We enjoyed that the lodge was on the Gull Lake Narrows which gives you access to numerous lakes to fish. There is a boat access just down the road and the lodge has docks to keep your boat at while staying at the resort. Zorbaz is also just down the road or lake from the lodge. The lodge also has its own Heritage Lake Lost Lake. It is owned by the lodge and there are no motors allowed on it. The lodge advertises they have kayaks, canoes, and row boats to use for free. There were only a couple of these down at the lake and there were no oars available. We checked with the front desk and the employee said they should be down by the lake and he didn’t know where they were. The swimming beach on Lost Lake was in poor condition and the swimming area was very weedy as it was clear the lodge had not removed any weeds. There is only one fire pit down by the lake for the entire lodge which we found odd as most places have several near the cabins. There is a place called “Harry’s Garage” near the lake that is advertised with arcade games and recreational games. This building was an absolute dump and was not maintained well. Half of the games did not even work and the building was very dirty and is not some place I would imagine anyone would want to hang out in. One night while we were staying at the lodge there was a wedding going on and staff never notified guests of this ahead of time as it made several areas of the property and restaurant closed for the event. They have a restaurant and bar on site but it is only open Friday-Sunday 4-9pm. We ate at the restaurant one night and thought the food was overpriced and not that good. Most of us got the walleye and it was dry and did not have any flavor and was not worth $30. In comparison to the Good Ol’ Days we thought the cottage itself was larger and nicer than the the cottages at Good Ol’ Days however it was more expensive and the overall lodge and facilities were not well maintained and were not as nice as at the Good Ol’ Days. It was not a horrible stay we just felt there are better places we could go that take care of their facilities for the money. We will probably keep staying at the Good Ol’ Days Resort in the future.
Rooms: Clean but not maintained.
Nearby activities: Zorbaz on Gull Lake, fishing, 20 minutes from Brainerd
Walkability: No nearby walking paths
Food and drinks: Food at the restaurant onsite was mediocre and overpriced

Very disappointed to see the menu has gone downhill over the years. Pretty sure the walleye was a pre-breaded frozen and reheated fillet served with miracle whip tartar sauce. “Sweedish” Meatballs were room temperature and flavorless. The ambience is amazing and the service was very friendly. Dining room was deserted at 7pm on Friday.

The food was good with a limited menu - lots of burgers. We had smash burgers and they were good but very messy. we ended up eating them with a fork. The cocktails were delicious. The service was slow. I think they were understaffed. The salads came with the burgers instead of before. We will try it again.
