“Sold some of my old jeans, hoodies, t-shirts & joggers that were covered in paint (I'm an artist so many years of messes were on them, lol) Owner Nick Soderstrom gave me a great offer & paid me via Venmo right then & there. I also enjoyed meeting Nick & chatting...interesting nice guy! Highly recommend Bearded Mermaid in downtown Northfield whether you're a seller like me or a shopper...this place is packed full of treasures! (be aware of his limited hours but it's worth the wait for his Open hours/day(s?) ?”

“I found so many interesting items at this location. The owner was a gentleman who helped me out with this incredible antique lamp. It had a marble base and looked like it may have been a candelabra repurposed with electrical wiring. Extremely cool! He made sure both bulbs worked and even kept the store opened a couple of minutes longer to help me with some other items (even though I insisted that I could come back later, which I definitely will). I found a vintage coaster set that looked exactly like the one my grandmother had, two beautiful, framed antique prints of birds, circa 1920, a set of antique silver salt and pepper shakers, and a beautiful gold desk frame for a photo. I wanted so many other items, but decided to make another trip later with my husband. Owner said they are constantly getting new items for their booths. Great experience!”

“We visited on 6/23 and really enjoyed our time. Big shop (but not overwhelming) with treasures and interesting finds in every corner. Some alcoves are tight, but worth the time to look through. We looked all around and left with some great items. We are looking forward to visiting again! Some reviews mentioned feeling monitored or that conversations/interactions were not enjoyable. Both the gentleman and lady at the counter were kind to us and didn’t make us feel uncomfortable. I think the gentleman is more introverted, he was polite and friendly (but not overly chatty) and as a fellow introvert, I appreciate that! Great shop- worth the trip!!”

“A great place to find household stuff and kitchen things. They have some discount days. Most of the prices are reasonable afew things I found not so much could buy new but better pricing then other thrift stores and you never know what you will find. You never know what you will find and with 2 colleges in town a grat stop for a thrifty college student on a budget.”
