Apparently, they have an issue with theft. Their solution is instead of hiring more people they lock down all registers, and the customer has to wait for an employee to sign in to watch you check out. Dollar General doesn’t save anybody money in most circumstances, they cost more than if you want to a target, Walgreens, or Walmart. They are going to charge convenience pricing, and treat all of their customers as if they are thieves. Why would anybody want to shop at the store? I know I won’t be returning. I hope others in the area decide to do the same.

They have locked down the self check outs due to theft. I suspect the reason there was so much theft to begin with is the fact that there is never an employee in the front in any capacity. You would think then that the employees would be in the front and ready to assist with check out, or at least have a bell, but this is not the case. Still no where to be found, when you finally track them down after walking the entire store and ask to be able to check out, they roll their eyes and make unbelievably rude comments. I was the first customer in this morning and just needed a quick thing. They saw me walk in and knew they had a customer. I still had to holler and then physically track them down. I remained calm and simply asked to check out. When leaving I got a loud and snarky, “thank you for being so patient, you’ve got the patience of Christ”. I think I was wildly patient with your unprofessionalism and that was my last straw. We won’t be back. Such a bummer as the north side really was excited to have a close option for basic items.

The people working in this place should be terminated. Especially the lady with the glasses and long brown hair. She is lazy and always leaving the front unattended. Anyone could walk out with stuff and she would never know. Anytime I come in here people are struggling with the self check outs and she takes her sweet time helping people. She needs to go. Wasted my whole lunch break waiting for her to approve something on self check out. Ask her for help and she rolled her eyes. Terrible service

Wish I could review lower. Not only did you manage to NOT notice me waiting for a cashier, you also forgot to have fresh scents in the building. Smelled like a soggy fish inside.

You guys really need a bell or something 3rd time I couldn't get help at checkout with a discount item, I've only been here like 4 times, and this is the 3rd time I've walked out without my things. Don't waste your time here

It's really only self checkout and the coupons never come off from my account and trying to find literally anyone to help is impossible I found one person and he told me to just buy my things and to "get on" bc he doesn't work here full time and he doesn't know how to do register. Swell thanks for that I guess ?
