The Busy Baby Mat was invented by a 10-year U.S. Army veteran and first-time mom who came up with the idea for the Busy Baby mat shortly after after having lunch with some girlfriends and their little ones. The 1-year old girls were adorable, but a complete distraction the entire meal. They were either reaching for all of the things on the table that they shouldn't have, or throwing the things their mothers gave them onto the floor. She thought, "There has to be something to buy to keep baby busy and have less distractions when we go out to eat!". There wasn't... so she created it!
