Had to get my tire patched. Rick and his crew were awesome!!!!!! I went to get my tire put on after it was fixed, and Rick even put my spare tire back where it went. Very reasonable and friendly. Support local small businesses!!!!!!

5 star shop all the way. Truck trouble right away on a Tuesday morning, they had me in the shop almost instantly, AND SHOWED me what my problems were. That my good ppl is what separates good shops and mechanics from great ones. Didn't even charge me the shop minimum, excellent experience all around.

I work at Walmart Auto Center in Pine City. (Tires, oil, and batteries only) When someone has an issue with something beyond our knowledge and skills, I ALWAYS send them to Rick's.. My family has been a customer for years. They're honest and do quality, thorough work. Sometimes they're busy, but there's a good reason for it.

Brought my girl friend's 2006 Saturn Vue to Ricks Auto Repair. It had a bad starter. They were able to get it in on short notice , which was great! My girl friend had to drive it back to the cities in a few days as she was just visiting Pine City. Carol, Everyone was great to deal with at Ricks, until we got the bill. $570.00!!!!!!!!!! $317.00 for a starter you can buy on the internet for $50-70.00!!!!! 107.00 for labor and 30.00 for a environmental fee? 20.00 extra for using a C.C. (They did warn us about the extra c.c. fee)Talking about padding the bill! After this bend over experience I can not recommend Rcks to anyone.....

My 22 year old daughter's 2013 Nissan ALTAMA broke down while visiting the area. Not being familiar with the area, we did a quick google search and found Rick's Auto Repair to have great reviews and had her car towed there. Upon inspection the car needed a new radiator and transmission. We received an estimate and was told it would take 2 weeks to get to it. I expected and understood this.We continued to follow up. After a week of being worked on, by daughter called 8/15 to check in and was told by the lady at the front desk the car would be complete that evening. The next morning we made the 1.5 hour drive only to be told it was not done. We stayed for a few hours only to be told they can't finish and needed to order a new part. We return the following week. She paid for the $2200 service only to drive off the lot to have the check engine light go on. We returned and waited another 2 hours with NO communication. I confronted them asking "can someone please help understanding what is going on. My daughter had a job interview to get back to this afternoon". I was told the transmission sensor was not working. An hour later they told us they couldn't do anything and that it would be fine to drive back home and to bring it to our local Mechanic. Not only had we traveled 3 hours round trip twice now, there was no offer for compensation or reimbursement for our troubles. No empathy for our frustration. If anything, the entire time we felt we were a bother and our business was not appreciated. Maybe because we are not locals.I wish that was all. We brought the car to our trusted local mechanic only to receive a bill of $1400 to redo the poor work down by Rick's Auto Repair. The following were the items:1.)The Transmission sensor that we were told was not working was no plugged in, bundled and pushed in the back of the transmission. It was burnt. $4672.) the Transmission cooler was cracked -$7003.) The bolts holding down the transmission and various others where the wrong bolts and stripped.Rick's Auto Repair may be able to provide good service for your basic needs, I DO NOT recommend them for complex auto repair needs like a new transmission. We will be submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

Truly awful experience! My car broke down and had to be towed about a month ago and the closest shop was ricks. I live an hour and a half away so was a bit nervous considering they were going to have to replace my engine. Boy was I right to be nervous!!!! After 3 weeks of not having my car I was finally called to come pick it up. Paid them $2,400 and drove out of the parking lot and my engine light turned on. They told me it was an issue with one of the transmission sensors but didn’t have the part so I drove it home and took it in to my local auto shop who I know and trust. They said it was one of the worst engine installation jobs they’ve ever seen!! Along with many other parts like incorrectly used bolts, broken wires and a broken transmission cooler box. Took an extra $1,400 for my car to be back to normal. Very disappointed in the service I received from Ricks. They did not communicate any updates to me and the front desk lady was rude to my parents when they called for updates, she also hung up on me when I called to ask to speak to a mechanic after driving my car home so I could explain to my local shop what the issue was. All in all an awful experience and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Worse shop in Pine City they don't fix vehicles right and they sure know how to take advantage of the senior vulnerable people in Pine City my mom has taken her car many time to his shop and its still not fixed so I had her go else where . Now the real mechanic found the real problem and are honest people. This shop isn't a good shop at all. Go else where you will save thousands of dollars. Also there is no communication at all with the mechanics or the customers And he really knows how to rip people off specially women that don't know nothing about cars which is really sad.Service: Oil change
